ABOUT THE JOB

We’re seeking a Consultant Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infra Platform team responsible for keeping critical services reliable, resilient and supportable across AWS, Azure and GCP. You will combine strong Cloud Platform expertise, and Windows platform knowledge with software engineering, automation, observability and operational excellence to reduce toil and improve service outcomes. At Consultant level, you will communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, lead complex cross-team topics from ambiguity to resolution, influence engineering decisions and help other engineers improve their craft.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engineer and operate secure, scalable and resilient cloud services across AWS, Azure and/or GCP, with a strong focus on availability, resilience and consistent operational standards;

• Define and manage service-level indicators, service-level objectives and error budgets, and use them to prioritise reliability work, manage operational risk and balance change velocity with service health;

• Build reusable, version-controlled automation for provisioning, deployment, configuration, patching, compliance, scaling, backup, recovery and routine service operations using infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management practices;

• Identify, measure and eliminate operational toil by replacing repetitive manual activities with reliable self-service workflows, event-driven remediation and tested runbooks;

• Design and improve observability across metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and actionable alerts to detect emerging risks, understand customer impact and reduce mean time to detect and recover;

• Lead complex production incidents and technical investigations, coordinate responders and stakeholders, provide clear status and risk communication, complete blameless post-incident reviews and drive corrective actions through to closure;

• Develop, automate and regularly test high-availability, backup and disaster-recovery controls, including failure scenarios, failover, rollback and recovery against agreed recovery objectives;

• Proactively manage capacity, performance, cost, security, vulnerability and configuration risks across cloud services, and feed improvements back into architecture and engineering practices;

• Engineer and support configuration management system for Windows Server platforms, including SCCM, Windows servers and MSSQL;

• Own complex technical topics end to end: clarify the problem, align stakeholders, assess options and trade-offs, recommend a path, drive decisions and implementation, and communicate outcomes in a concise and accessible way;

• Collaborate across Cloud, Application, Database, Security, Network, Architecture and Service Management teams; set engineering standards, coach engineers and facilitate effective technical discussions;

• Fulfil other tasks as assigned by your People Leader and/or authorised representative of NAB Vietnam from time to time.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years’ experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or Windows Infrastructure Engineering within enterprise production environments;

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one of AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform, plus working knowledge of the other platforms and the ability to apply consistent reliability patterns across multi-cloud environments;

• Practical understanding of SRE principles, including service-level indicators and objectives, error budgets, observability, toil reduction, on-call operations, capacity planning, incident management and blameless post-incident review;

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent;

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM), including operating-system deployment, application packaging and deployment, software updates, configuration baselines, reporting and client remediation;

• Experience of MSSQL, including installation and configuration, connectivity, patching, backup and restore, high-availability concepts, security, monitoring and performance troubleshooting;

• Strong production-support capability, including calm and structured leadership during high-severity incidents, root-cause analysis, problem management, controlled change and operational-risk management;

• Demonstrated ability to lead ambiguous and complex topics across multiple teams, facilitate decisions, influence without direct authority, manage conflicting priorities and drive actions to measurable outcomes;

• Strong consulting, stakeholder engagement, coaching, mentoring, organisation and time-management skills.
