This position manages the commissioning and delivery of Legal Content for Thomson Reuters Korea, focusing on content licensing and acquisition for Korean legal content under an “Online First” strategy. The role involves identifying and maintaining content partners, validating and testing legal content, managing editorial processes, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

About the Role
In this opportunity as a Commissioning Editor, you will:

  • Source, evaluate, and collaborate with licensors, authors, and subject-matter experts to identify, scope, and secure new legal content aligned with our "Online First" strategy.

  • Oversee commissioning, manuscript delivery, and third-party editing processes, ensuring content moves smoothly from concept through to publication.

  • Review, validate, and test Korean legal content across platforms and environments to ensure accuracy, clarity, and practical usability for customers.

  • Track legislative amendments, regulatory updates, and enforcement rules, and ensure timely internal communication and content updates.

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with authors, partners, and key stakeholders in the legal and publishing industries to secure high-value content and collaboration opportunities.

  • Contribute to financial and product targets through effective content licensing, performance tracking, and continuous enhancement of customer experience.

About You
You're a fit for the role of Commissioning Editor if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Proven experience in legal content development within a legal publishing or related professional information environment.

  • Strong content management skills, including planning, commissioning, editing coordination, and delivery to schedule.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and nurture editorial and author relationships over an extended period (typically 5+ years).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial, proactive mindset and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to interpret and understand Korean legal materials (legislation, regulations, enforcement rules) and translate them into practical, user-focused content.
