Job Purpose

The Commercial Contracts Support Manager will oversee the Scheme`s contract administration, contract compliance, claims management and dispute resolution.

This is a PMC role, and there will be multiple Supervision Consultants and EPC`s appointed directly by the Client. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to meet project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.

Job Responsibilities

•   Provide commercial and contractual support across all project lots.

•   Monitor contract compliance, addressing deviations with DELIVERY CONTRACTORS and SUPERVISION CONSULTANTS.

•   Assist in contract negotiations, claims management, and dispute resolution.

•   Prepare and review financial and commercial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

·      Administer the main contract and subcontracts in line with the agreed terms and conditions.

·      Interpret contract clauses and advise the project team on contractual obligations, entitlements, and risks.

·      Ensure compliance with contract requirements, notices, timelines, and documentation procedures.

·      Maintain contract registers, correspondence logs, and records of contractual events.

• Manage variation instructions, change requests, and compensation event procedures.
• Assess contractual entitlement for time and cost arising from design changes, client instructions, delays, or disruption.
• Ensure changes are properly notified, substantiated, evaluated, and agreed.
• Track pending variations and support timely commercial closure.
• Lead efforts to resolve contractual disputes through negotiation and structured correspondence.
• Support senior management in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, or litigation preparation where required.
• Prepare contractual position papers and evidence files for disputed matters.
• Work to resolve issues early to avoid escalation and preserve project relationships.
• Manage contractual close-out procedures, including completion obligations and release of securities where applicable.
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with EPC`s.
• Ensure all claims, variations, and outstanding contractual matters are resolved before final closure.
• Support lessons learned and close-out reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

·       Degree in Engineering, Law or Quantity Surveying. MRICS or equivalent certification is preferred.

·       15+ years of contracts administration experience in large infrastructure programmes

Technical Skills

·       Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control software

·      Proficiency in contract administration, management and negotiations.

·      Proficient in EOT and variation claim assessments / evaluations and formal responses.
