Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Buyer to join our team in a fast-paced, evolving aerospace environment. Archer’s engineering and manufacturing teams are moving quickly to advance Halo and Thunder toward prototype build and first flight. The Buyer will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance — often embedded directly with program teams — to turn purchase requests into ordered, received, and inventoried material in minutes and hours rather than days, ensuring timely, cost-effective material availability that supports our aggressive production schedule and milestones.

What You’ll Do

• Place purchase orders for production of aircraft material as required by SAP MRP and the manufacturing build schedule
• Manage ordering activity for aircraft material and supporting goods and services, including creating and maintaining all flows to and from Archer’s supply base (purchase orders, transfer orders, returns) and indirect purchases such as tools, lab supplies, and other supporting material
• Own the accuracy and timely closure of all open purchase orders, driving cycle time from requisition submission to PO issuance in hours, not days
• Work embedded with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to translate urgent material needs into purchases within minutes to hours in support of an aggressive, fast-moving prototype development schedule
• Execute non-PO purchasing (e.g., P-Card and approved emergency ordering processes) for time-critical items in accordance with Finance-approved cost centers and protocols
• Physically and digitally inventory received parts and proactively notify part owners the moment goods are available for pickup
• Proactively drive purchase order approvals to completion, following up continuously with approvers and stakeholders to prevent schedule-impacting delays
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships that drive on-time material deliveries and mitigate supplier risk and schedule delays
• Support pre-SIOP activities, including projections vs. actuals and PPV reporting, and partner closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure purchase orders are properly routed, coded, and aligned to program budgets
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payments
• Source aircraft material as needed
• Manage a daily order volume that fluctuates with engineering and assembly demand, at times processing many orders in a single day
• Travel may be required but on an infrequent basis

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or similar business degree 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment supporting early-stage aircraft development
• Experience with SAP ERP or an equivalent MRP/procurement system
• Comfortable working onsite and embedded with engineering and manufacturing teams to support urgent, time-sensitive purchasing needs
• Detail-oriented, results-driven, and a strong team player
• Proficient in MS Office Suite & Google Workspace
• Effective, proactive communicator who can drive approvals and follow-ups across multiple stakeholders

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience in the Aerospace and/or Automotive industry
• APICS certification
• Experience supporting rapid prototyping, first-article builds, or low-rate initial production programs

Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
