Core Knowledge & Skills: Designs large-scale CI/CD architectures, applies advanced cloud and security patterns, and builds reusable automation frameworks.
Work & Complexity: Oversees reliability and scalability initiatives, manages cross-functional efforts to resolve high-impact issues, and drives platform standardization.
Quality & Independence: Defines team processes and standards, conducts rigorous code and infrastructure reviews, and enforces best practices for monitoring and incident response.
Teamwork & Communication: Guides team execution, develops talent, resolves conflict, and aligns cross-team work with organizational priorities.

AIS is seeking an Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This role combines Azure architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps automation, and security remediation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to modernize infrastructure, strengthen security posture, and support key migration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure, including compute, network, and storage services.
• Modernize the infrastructure repository by bringing unmanaged Azure resources into source control and refactoring IaC (primarily PowerShell).
• Automate deployments and operational workflows using Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and scripting.
• Analyze and remediate Azure scan findings, focusing on critical and high‑priority issues to meet security and compliance standards.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on Azure best practices.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines.
Required For This Opportunity
• Active Top Secret Clearance and the ability to work onsite in DC
Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong proficiency with Azure services, automation, and IaC (PowerShell, ARM, Terraform or Ansible a plus).
• Experience with cloud security remediation, compliance, and governance.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Nice to Have Skills
• Microsoft Azure certifications (Architect, Administrator, DevOps Engineer) or AWS certifications.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and advanced networking.
• Gitlab CI/CD.
At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $114,000-$172,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
