Make a meaningful difference with BlueCare

Are you passionate about quality, governance, and continuous improvement? We are seeking two experienced Audit and Compliance Advisors to join our team and play a pivotal role in strengthening organisational assurance across our aged care services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Care, Governance & Quality, the Audit and Compliance Advisor is responsible for developing and maintaining the organisation's audit and assurance framework, providing independent oversight of compliance and governance systems, and supporting organisational readiness for regulatory review.

The successful candidate will apply a risk-based approach to assurance activities, identify emerging trends, and provide meaningful insights that strengthen governance, minimise organisational risk, and improve outcomes for residents, clients, and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent, organisation-wide assurance on compliance, quality, and safety risks, identifying and escalating material risks to senior leadership and governance committees.

  • Design, implement, maintain, and govern the enterprise audit and assurance framework aligned with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative requirements, and organisational risk priorities.

  • Lead risk-based and thematic audits to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, quality, and organisational control systems beyond service-level compliance.

  • Analyse intelligence from audits, incidents, complaints, clinical indicators, consumer feedback, and other assurance activities to identify emerging trends and systemic risks.

  • Prepare high-quality assurance reports for Executive Leadership, Quality Committees, and Board-level governance forums, providing insights into compliance maturity, risk exposure, and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate organisational engagement with regulators, including preparation for external audits, regulatory submissions, evidence collection, remediation programs, and assurance reporting.

  • Provide expert interpretation and advice on relevant aged care legislation, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and governance expectations.

  • Contribute to the development of corrective and preventative actions that address root causes and demonstrate sustainable improvement rather than simple closure of actions.

  • Build collaborative relationships with Quality Managers and operational leaders while maintaining independence as a second-line assurance function.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Health Discipline, or relevant field.

  • Post-graduate qualification in Health Services Management, Governance or Risk.

  • Current AHPRA registration in Nursing.

  • Extensive experience in governance-level audit, assurance or compliance functions, preferably in aged care or complex service environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and governing enterprise audit and assurance frameworks.

  • Ability in Interpreting and applying the Aged Care Act, Strengthened Quality Standards and provider governance obligations.

  • Prepare and providing executive and Board‑level assurance reporting.

  • Experience in leading organisational change and assurance uplift across multiple services.

  • Sound understanding of person‑centred care and rights‑based regulatory frameworks.

  • Demonstrated high‑level interpersonal, written and analytical communication skills suitable for regulatory and governance audiences.

  • Advanced capability in analysing, synthesising and presenting quality and risk intelligence for executive decision‑making.

  • Experience operating as a second-line assurance function or internal audit role.

Employee Benefits:

  • Save tax and increase your take home pay by salary packaging your everyday living expenses and bills (up to $15,900) and meal entertainment (up to $2,650) per annum

  • A recognition and rewards platform, providing employee discounts at hundreds of retailers, including everyday expenses, holidays, health insurance, annual awards celebration, wellbeing and employee assistance programs

  • 12 weeks paid parental leave and 2 weeks paid partner leave, available after 6 months service, in addition to the government scheme

  • Diversity and inclusive leave, offering paid gender affirmation leave and cultural leave options (paid and unpaid) for those who may celebrate Lunar New Year, Diwali, Ramadan, NAIDOC weeks and other significant cultural events

  • Career development opportunities with one of the most trusted community and residential care providers in Australia to challenge yourself, grow and make a meaningful difference
