Thoughtworks is a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design and engineering to drive digital innovation. We are expanding our ANZ Public Sector, Healthcare and Life Sciences practice to meet a step-change in demand across federal, state and territory governments, with a particular focus on Queensland and the Commonwealth.
We are hiring a Client Partner to lead a portfolio of strategic public sector accounts, with healthcare and life sciences as a secondary focus. This is a senior, market-facing role for someone who already operates with credibility at SES and C-suite level in Australian government and who understands how to convert relationships into multi-year, outcome-based engagements.
Why this role, why now
The Queensland Government has allocated $1B to the Minister for Customer Services for a whole-of-government technology refresh. Olympics infrastructure investment is accelerating modernisation across transport, health and citizen services. At the Commonwealth level, the DTA Investment Oversight Framework continues to drive consolidation and reform across major digital projects. Thoughtworks is positioned to lead in legacy modernisation, AI delivery, data platforms and digital service transformation. This role exists to convert that positioning into sustained portfolio growth.
What we offer
A flat, transparent culture that values judgement and ownership. Direct access to global capability across AI, data, modernisation and digital transformation, including the AI/works platform. A leadership team that backs its people and expects them to back themselves. A practice with real momentum and a clear plan for the next three years.
There is no one-size-fits-all career path at Thoughtworks: however you want to develop your career is entirely up to you. But we also balance autonomy with the strength of our cultivation culture. This means your career is supported by interactive tools, numerous development programs and teammates who want to help you grow. We see value in helping each other be our best and that extends to empowering our employees in their career journeys.
At Thoughtworks, we use AI tools to support our recruitment team with administrative tasks such as drafting communications, scheduling interviews and writing job descriptions.
Crucially, our AI tools do not screen, assess, rank or make hiring decisions. Every application is reviewed by our team and all selection decisions are made exclusively by our interviewers and hiring managers.
We are committed to fairness and responsible AI. We actively manage our AI systems by testing, monitoring for biased outcomes and implementing mitigation measures. Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
Square is building a world-class, high-accountability field sales organization — and we’re looking for a leader who is both a coach and a builder. You know the craft of selling deeply: how to open doors, generate pipeline, position value competitively, and close with precision. You lead from the front, developing your team through active engagement — not from the sidelines.
You will be the driving force behind a disciplined, insight-led sales motion that blends in-person selling with proactive outbound strategy. Your leadership will elevate both the quality and velocity of revenue while shaping a culture rooted in excellence, ownership, and growth.
If you are a hands-on leader with deep product expertise, strong competitive instincts, and a track record of raising the bar for sellers — this is your next move.
Lead with expertise in the field
Operate in the details
Build a high-performance, high-accountability culture
Scale expertise, process, and go-to-market effectiveness
Partner and innovate across the business

Vera Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Vera Therapeutics’ mission is to advance treatments that target the source of disease in order to change the standard of care for patients. Vera Therapeutics’ lead product candidate is atacicept, a fusion protein self-administered at home as a subcutaneous once weekly injection that blocks both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand (APRIL), which stimulate B cells to produce autoantibodies contributing to certain autoimmune diseases, including IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and lupus nephritis. Beyond IgAN, Vera Therapeutics is evaluating additional diseases where the reduction of autoantibodies by atacicept may prove clinically meaningful. In addition, Vera Therapeutics holds an exclusive license agreement with Stanford University for a novel, next generation fusion protein targeting BAFF and APRIL, known as VT-109, with wide therapeutic potential across the spectrum of B-cell–mediated diseases. Vera Therapeutics is also evaluating the development of MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK virus, which can have devastating consequences in kidney transplant recipients. Vera Therapeutics retains all global developmental and commercial rights to atacicept, VT-109, and MAU868. For more information, please visit www.veratx.com.
Our values are the cornerstone of our culture. Our values inspire us every day and guide everything we do—from how we hire great people, to advancing our mission together, to achieving our ultimate goal to improve medical treatment for patients suffering from immunological diseases.
