Now, we’re looking for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground & Underground team — someone who’s ready to lead, mentor and push technical boundaries.

What will you do?

In this position you will join the Ground and Underground Engineering Practice in our Transport Service Group, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘Bring Ideas to Life’ for our clients.  With a focus on growing our Ground Engineering capabilities in NSW we are actively recruiting a senior technical person who is passionate about working collaboratively and on building eminence. You’ll play a key role in delivering technically complex, high-impact projects while helping grow the capability of those around you.

In this role, you will:

- Lead the delivery of geotechnical services across multidisciplinary projects from feasibility and concept design through detailed design and construction.

- Lead and manage medium to large-scale geotechnical investigations and design packages, including scope, programme, budget, resourcing, risk and quality.

- Provide technical leadership on complex geotechnical problems, including directing and reviewing advanced analysis using tools such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio and Rocscience.

- Manage, review and lead proposals and tenders, including scope development, delivery strategy and commercial inputs.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify and shape opportunities, and support ongoing business development.

- Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and geologists, supporting the ongoing development of the Ground Engineering team.

- Drive technical excellence through technical review, application of relevant standards and development and sharing of geotechnical knowledge.

- Manage multidisciplinary interfaces to achieve integrated, practical and commercially appropriate design solutions.

- Promote a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing across project delivery and client interactions.

- Apply strong written and verbal communication, commercial judgement and technical expertise to resolve complex project and client challenges.

What can you bring to the team?

You’re technically strong, commercially aware and passionate about continuous learning.

We’re looking for:

- 15+ years’ geotechnical engineering experience

- CPEng and relevant professional registration

- Strong technical capability with experience leading and reviewing complex geotechnical design and investigations

- Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and driving client focused outcomes

- Proven leadership, mentoring and development of engineers and geologists

- Involvement in industry bodies such as AGS (desirable)

- Australian citizen (desirable)

- While not mandatory, it is desirable that you are eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance.
