S&P Global Ratings' EMEA Corporates practice delivers independent credit opinions across a wide range of industries and geographies. Within this practice, the Emerging Markets team provides credit analysis and ratings for over 90 companies across high-growth regions including Central Asia, Türkiye, the Caucasus, and Africa, spanning sectors such as commodities, energy, telecommunications, transportation, and consumer goods. As emerging market issuers become increasingly integrated into global capital markets, this team plays a central role in providing rigorous, transparent credit perspectives on fast-evolving business models and dynamic macroeconomic conditions.
What You'll Do

In this role, you will contribute to independent credit opinions that global markets rely on. You will shape S&P Global's analytical perspective on emerging market corporates, develop the next generation of analysts, and lead the responsible adoption of AI-enabled workflows — all while upholding the quality, accountability, and integrity that define S&P Global Ratings.
Responsibilities
Team Contribution & Capability Building
- Serve as a senior reference point for junior analysts, coaching on credit fundamentals, financial modeling, data quality, and responsible use of AI tools; coordinate work across the portfolio and proactively manage capacity and quality risks.
- Drive continuous improvement by refining analytical playbooks and standard processes; partner with stakeholders to support the responsible rollout of new capabilities with appropriate governance and controls.
Core Analytical & Delivery
- Execute end-to-end credit analysis across a defined portfolio, maintaining consistently high standards of quality, timeliness, and analytical clarity.
- Lead surveillance and analytical updates, connecting issuer performance and market developments to forward-looking risk themes.
- Use approved generative AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and peer comparisons, while maintaining rigorous input validation, metric reconciliation, and documentation of analytical assumptions.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Translate complex data and analysis into clear, market-facing narratives that communicate S&P Global's independent viewpoint to issuers, investors, and senior market participants.
- Contribute to thought leadership by researching, drafting, and refining market-facing content with senior team input.
Risk Management & Operations
- Maintain adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance requirements; escalate emerging risks promptly and embed responsible AI practices into day-to-day workflows.
- Support the safe, monitored scaling of automation to remove low-value tasks, defining requirements and controls in partnership with relevant technical teams.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated financial analysis skills, including cash flow modeling, complex capital structure and debt instrument analysis, ratio and covenant analysis, and accounting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of emerging markets and a clear understanding of how global macroeconomic trends affect corporate business models.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for committee-ready documentation and senior-level engagement with issuers, investors, and market participants.
- Proven experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts, with a track record of raising analytical quality through structured feedback and review.
- Russian: Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally) — Required, as a portion of the credit portfolio operates in jurisdictions where Russian is the primary business language.
Preferred or Helpful Experience
- Experience integrating generative AI or large language model tools into analytical workflows, paired with disciplined governance, validation, and responsible use practices.
- Familiarity with data or automation tools relevant to credit analysis, including the ability to support testing and adoption of new capabilities.
- Strong understanding of the financial services environment and the ability to connect market developments to emerging risk themes.
- Evidence of simplifying or improving processes through standardization, tooling, or automation.
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis or a related financial services field.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
Additional Information
- We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
