ABOUT ACCOUNTING AT ROCKET LAB:
Join Rocket Lab as an Assistant Accountant and help power the numbers behind one of the world's leading space companies. As part of our Finance team, you'll help deliver high-quality financial accounting, statutory reporting and tax work that keeps our business on track. This is an opportunity to gain broad, hands-on experience across month-end close, IFRS reporting, tax compliance and SEC reporting to our US parent. You'll work closely with teams in New Zealand and the US, support our external audits, and help find smarter, more efficient ways of working as we scale.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
- Complete month-end and ad hoc financial reporting, reconciliations and audit-ready work papers
- Contribute to quarterly SEC reporting for our US parent
- Support IFRS statutory reporting and NZ/US external audits
- Help investigate and resolve accounting issues across fixed assets, inventory and R&D
- Help prepare GST, FBT, NRWT and income tax returns, plus R&D tax credit claims
- Assist with cash flow forecasts, Stats NZ surveys and process improvement initiatives
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- A diploma in accounting or business, and working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA or CPA)
- Month-end close experience in a medium to large organization
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Excel skills
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with large accounting systems
- Tier 1 ERP system experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
