About the Role
As a Software Engineer I, you will contribute to developing software solutions within a specific product area while building your technical expertise. This entry-level opportunity provides hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and working with emerging AI-assisted development tools in a supportive team environment.
Location: On-Site in Raleigh, NC
Program Start Dates: January 11, 2027, and June 14, 2027
Graduation Qualifications: Candidates should have completed their studies in 2025 or 2026, or expect to finish between August 2026 and May 2027.
Responsibilities
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of simple complexity.
Complete simple bug fixes.
Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolve basic technical issues as necessary.
Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools, under appropriate guidance, to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Apply AI-first development workflows while reviewing and validating AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and maintainability.
Continuously learn and adopt emerging AI development tools and practices as part of the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
Be on track to receive a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field of study.
Have proficiency in at least one relevant programming language or technology, such as Angular, C#, Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, or .NET.
Possess a basic understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), storage systems, and data modeling principles.
Basic knowledge of AI-assisted and agentic software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or similar tools.
Interest in and ability to use AI-assisted development workflows to generate, refine, test, and debug code while applying sound software engineering practices.
Demonstrate interest in technology and a willingness to learn new processes and technologies.
Have a collaborative mindset with solid communication skills.
Be able to engage with leading-edge technologies while working alongside experienced and supportive colleagues.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $59,200 - $98,600. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
