About the Role:

The insurance Actuarial Group of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Group, Ltd. is currently recruiting for an Actuary, Commercial Property Pricing role to provide both traditional and technical support to Everest’s Primary Casualty business.  This a hybrid position based out of our Warren, New York City, Stamford or Philadelphia offices.  In addition to having strong technical capabilities, the ideal candidate will be high-energy, with a strong desire to learn and develop, and be attracted to the opportunity to develop new tools & capabilities within a rapidly expanding business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Support the development and enhancement of pricing tools and methodologies for Commercial Property products, including Wholesale and Programs. 

• Perform pricing, profitability, rate change, trend, and portfolio analyses to support underwriting and business decision-making. 

• Assist with annual planning activities, including ELR analysis, portfolio reviews, and preparation of actuarial assumptions. 

• Support pricing modernization initiatives, including model development, coding, testing, validation, and implementation. 

• Contribute to portfolio impact analyses for strategic initiatives, including rater harmonization and pricing methodology changes. 

• Partner with Underwriting, CAT Modeling, IT, Operations, and other actuarial teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and explain analytical results. 

• Help improve efficiency, governance, and documentation of pricing and analytical processes. 

• Support regulatory, filing, reinsurance, and ad hoc actuarial requests as needed. 

• Develop clear exhibits and summaries that translate actuarial analyses into practical business insights. 

Desired Skills, Qualifications, Education & Experience: 

• Near-ACAS with strong property pricing experience. 

• 5+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in property pricing, commercial lines, portfolio management, or related insurance analytics. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data and translate results into business recommendations. 

• Experience with actuarial pricing tools, data analytics, and modeling techniques. 

• Familiarity with catastrophe modeling concepts and property insurance pricing preferred. 

• Proficiency with Excel and large datasets; Python, SQL, R or similar tools preferred. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to actuarial and business stakeholders. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and work effectively in a cross-functional environment. 

• Strong attention to detail, ownership, and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and pricing methodologies. 

The base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $150,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
