About the Role
As an Account Manager for our China commodities book of business, you will act as a trusted advisor to key market players navigating the rapidly changing global trade landscape. By championing Kpler’s intelligence platforms across the energy and commodities sectors, you will deepen executive relationships and unlock new commercial opportunities within enterprise accounts. Your work directly drives revenue growth across APAC while empowering world-class trading and supply chain organizations with actionable, data-driven clarity.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and Nurture Key Accounts: Proactively build, retain, and expand strategic relationships across assigned commodity accounts in China to drive customer satisfaction and net retention.
Drive Revenue Growth: Spearhead upselling and cross-selling campaigns within existing clients, identifying new departmental needs and introducing complementary Kpler data solutions and platforms.
Engage Key Decision-Makers: Initiate and lead strategic discussions with directors, senior managers, and executive stakeholders to uncover complex business challenges and demonstrate measurable ROI.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with sales support functions, customer success, and product experts to convert usage insights into actionable expansion opportunities.
Formulate Account Plans: Develop tailored account growth strategies that align Kpler’s evolving product suite with client trading, research, and supply chain objectives.
Maintain Market & Pipeline Intelligence: Monitor commodity market dynamics across China and maintain accurate sales forecasting and account health metrics within CRM systems.
Experience & Background
What you'll need (Must-haves):

Demonstrated track record in B2B account management, client retention, or strategic account growth within B2B SaaS, data intelligence, energy, or commodities.

Proven ability to engage, negotiate with, and influence senior decision-makers and business leaders in the commodities or financial sectors.

Native or fluent Mandarin language skills with strong business English proficiency to engage local clients effectively and collaborate across global teams.

Solid understanding of account expansion techniques, including whitespace identification, multi-threading, and upselling data/analytics solutions.

Prior experience working specifically with market data, analytics platforms, or SaaS tools tailored to energy, shipping, or physical commodities trading.

An established network across state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or private trading firms in China.
