About the Role

This role will shape how field technicians, partners, and internal teams interact with Taara’s products. UX Designer at Taara will bring structure to ambiguity, define user journeys and workflows, and ensure our products are intuitive, efficient, and grounded in real user needs. You’ll work closely with product and engineering to translate complex technical concepts into clear experiences that reduce friction, build trust and create delight.

In this role, success looks like making Taara’s tools simpler and clearer despite underlying tech complexity, establishing UX as a strategic function, and maintaining a design system that acts as a single source of truth to accelerate development. Additionally, you will drive a data-informed culture through research and usability findings, ensuring Taara’s products and marketing deliver a cohesive experience for customers and partners.

How you will make 10x impact:

• Design clear, end-to-end workflows for complex technical tasks.

• Conduct user research to understand real-world needs, pain points, and mental models; turn insights into actionable design direction.

• Advocate for the full user experience. This includes understanding and addressing the real workflows around ordering, receiving, installation, setup, configuration, usage, monitoring, troubleshooting, support, and ongoing management.

• Contribute to and maintain Taara’s design system, including components, patterns, templates, interactions, and visual guidelines that ensure consistency across products and support future development efficiency.

• Develop information architecture, interaction models, and navigation that make technical processes understandable and predictable for all user roles.

• Collaborate with product and engineering to clarify requirements, refine workflows, validate feasibility, and ensure UX decisions reflect real-world behaviors and constraints.

• Run usability testing to validate assumptions and data-based design decisions.

• Support cross-product and cross-team alignment, helping maintain consistency between
  Taara’s software tools, operational workflows, and marketing/customer-facing materials.

• Communicate UX direction through flows, prototypes, wireframes, narratives, and design artifacts that help teams understand the problem, the user, and the solution.

• Bring an AI-native approach to the work, using AI where appropriate for research synthesis, content, and rapid iteration, and collaborating with engineers inside the same AI tooling.

What you should have:

• 5+ years of UX design experience

• Ability to create information architecture, workflow diagrams, user journeys, and prototypes.

• Strong experience with design systems, including building, maintaining, and driving adoption.

• Ability to conduct user research and usability testing and synthesize findings into actionable insights.

• Skilled in prototyping, low- to high-fidelity, for both exploration and communication.

• Experience applying data-driven decision making and running structured feedback loops.

• Skilled in presenting design rationale, facilitating cross-functional working sessions, and communicating UX decisions through clear storytelling

It would be great if you also had these:

• Familiarity with startup environments, managing ambiguity, and adapting quickly to new information.

Location & Compensation:

• Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000-$160,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
