As part of the US Controller’s Organization, this role helps ensure the financial integrity of the legal entities in our company's US market and supports the results reported in the consolidated financial statement for the Company.

 

This position will collaborate cross functionally to ensure activities operate in a well-controlled financial environment with focus on supporting accounting activities for the US Animal Health business. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners in US Animal Health to understand the Sales and Marketing business, Manufacturing and Support Functions and business drivers. In addition,   this role will partner with the Business Support Center in monthly close processes overseeing journal entry activity, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and ad-hoc account analysis.   This position will provide the opportunity to advance analytical skills by analyzing financial statements of multiple legal entities.  Through these activities the candidate will gain key knowledge that will greatly assist with future finance roles.

 

More Specific Responsibilities include: 

• Handle various accounting functions for the US market with preparation of journal entries and related analysis in support of the business.

• Prepare account reconciliations

• Apply knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles across a broad range of transactions and business situations, e.g. revenue and deferrals, cash transactions, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, accruals, and inventory

•  Assist with the development and coordination of master data requirements for US entity creation (i.e. general ledger accounts, cost centers) and support financial close process for new acquisitions until full integration on our company's system platforms. 
• Respond to audit inquiries and testing for both internal and external audit groups. 
• Develop relevant business knowledge of US operations
• Lead and/or participate on special projects or teams as required, including select business development opportunities undertaken by the Company and initiation of process improvements

 

Qualifications: 

Education Minimum Requirement: 

• BS/BA degree in Accounting required.

 

Required Experience and Skills: 

• Possesses conceptual understanding of accounting principles. 
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and within a team environment. 
• Flexible work style in a changing work environment.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

• Knowledge of MS Office applications and our company's Internal systems
• Aptitude for financial account reconciliation processes
• Possess ability to read, comprehend and analyze external financial statements
• Ability to work with other company functions and outside third parties
• Proactively identify opportunities for streamlining and improving processes.
• Problem resolution skills and an understanding of when, how, and where to escalate problems and questions
• Effective multi-tasking and time management skills

The salary range for this role is

$71,900.00 - $113,200.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
