State Street is seeking an accomplished senior technology leader to lead technology delivery for the Prime Services, Equity Swaps, and Secured Financing businesses within State Street Markets Technology. This will provide strategic leadership, delivery oversight, and engineering excellence across globally distributed teams, with a significant delivery footprint in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving execution across complex technology portfolios, enabling business growth, modernizing platforms, strengthening operational resilience, and building high-performing engineering organizations. As the India-based senior technology leader, will oversee both employee and vendor delivery teams, partnering closely with business, operations, risk, and technology leaders globally to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. The role requires a strong blend of business acumen, engineering leadership, transformation experience, and execution rigor within highly regulated financial services environments.

Role Overview:

The Managing Director will serve as the senior technology delivery leader for Prime Services, Equity Swaps, and Secured Financing Technology. The role owns end-to-end technology execution across the software delivery lifecycle and is accountable for delivery predictability, platform stability, modernization, workforce strategy, and engineering excellence.

This leader will play a critical role in supporting State Street Markets' strategic growth objectives, including scaling newly launched business capabilities, expanding product offerings, modernizing technology platforms, and advancing automation across front-to-back operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Delivery Leadership & Business Execution-

• Own end-to-end technology delivery across Prime Services, Equity Swaps, and Secured Financing, including architecture, engineering, testing, release management, and production support.
• Deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes aligned with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and client commitments.
• Scale technology capabilities supporting the growth of the Equity Swaps business across global markets.
• Lead strategic modernization initiatives, including platform transformation, application rationalization, and legacy technology retirement.
• Drive front-to-back automation across Prime Services workflows, including corporate actions, claims, recalls, and billing processes.
• Enhance platform resilience, security, and operational stability through cloud adoption, application modernization, technology controls, and remediation programs.
• Expand technology capabilities supporting Secured Financing products, including intraday repo, agency repo, and unsecured bond borrow offerings.

2. Global Delivery & India Leadership-

• Serve as the senior delivery executive for India-based engineering teams supporting Prime Services, Equity Swaps, and Secured Financing.
• Drive organizational scale, productivity, and delivery excellence across globally distributed teams.
• Establish and evolve a high-performance operating model with clear accountability, governance, execution discipline, and workforce optimization.
• Lead effective collaboration across global technology, business, and operations organizations to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

3. Engineering Modernization & Transformation-

• Define and execute the technology modernization roadmap aligned to business growth and strategic priorities.
• Accelerate adoption of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, event-driven platforms, and engineering best practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through automation, DevOps, CI/CD, quality engineering, and site reliability practices.
• Champion the responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering capabilities to improve productivity, quality, and delivery velocity.

4. Risk, Controls & Operational Excellence-

• Establish robust governance frameworks covering delivery health, operational performance, risk management, and service quality.
• Ensure proactive identification and mitigation of execution, technology, cyber, and operational risks.
• Strengthen controls and resiliency aligned with enterprise risk management and regulatory expectations.
• Drive operational excellence through disciplined metrics, transparency, and continuous improvement.

5. Executive Stakeholder Management-

• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior leaders across business, operations, technology, and risk functions.
• Lead executive governance forums and delivery reviews.
• Provide transparent, data-driven reporting on portfolio performance, investment priorities, risks, and strategic outcomes.
• Influence key technology and business decisions through strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement.

6. Talent & Organizational Leadership-

• Build and develop high-performing engineering teams capable of delivering strategic business outcomes.
• Lead workforce planning, succession management, leadership development, and capability-building initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Optimize the workforce model across employees and strategic vendor partners to support long-term business growth.

7. Enterprise Leadership-

• Contribute to broader State Street technology priorities, including engineering excellence, talent strategy, AI adoption, delivery governance, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate across technology organizations to drive consistency in standards, practices, and execution methodologies.
• Support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that enhance scalability, resiliency, and business agility.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• 20+ years of progressive experience leading technology delivery and large-scale engineering organizations within financial services or complex global enterprises.
• Proven track record of delivering large transformation programs and managing complex technology portfolios.
• Deep knowledge of Capital Markets, Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, or related Markets businesses.
• Strong engineering background with experience in modern technology architectures, including cloud platforms, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated success leading global teams across multiple locations, including employee and vendor organizations.
• Strong execution discipline with expertise in delivery management, software engineering, production stability, and operational excellence.
• Deep understanding of risk management, technology controls, cyber security, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and executive leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders globally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading technology organizations supporting Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, Secured Financing, Equity Swaps, or broader Markets businesses.
• Experience driving cloud transformation, platform modernization, and enterprise-scale engineering transformations.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled software engineering, intelligent automation, and emerging productivity technologies.
• Strong expertise in Agile, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and engineering maturity models.
• Architecture-level understanding of enterprise data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and front-to-back financial services technology architectures.
