At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.

Those in tax compliance at PwC will focus on validating clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will review and analyse financial data, prepare and file tax returns, and assist businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimising risks of non-compliance.

The role

The successful candidate will:

• Have a chance to work within the Tax Reporting & Strategy practice of PwC Azerbaijan.
• Carry out basic research on tax, accounting and technology-related matters relevant to tax compliance under the supervision of more senior staff.
• Acquire skills and knowledge in tax compliance, accounting, tax technology and process automation.
• Support the tax team in working with ERP, accounting and finance systems, and related financial data.
• Assist with data extraction, cleansing, mapping, reconciliation and preparation of tax-ready data.
• Support technology solution design, gap analysis, development, and testing.
• Assist with the automation of tax compliance and reporting processes based on requirements formulated by functional consultants.
• Support the preparation of data analytics and visualisations for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
• Prepare technical documentation for technology developments and automated solutions.

What we are looking for:

• A graduate degree with a major in Economics, Finance & Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Any relevant experience or background in ERP, accounting, or finance systems will be considered an advantage.
• Strong command of spoken and written Azerbaijani and English; knowledge of Russian or other languages will be considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills, with an investigative mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
• Motivation to learn and develop across tax, accounting, data and technology, with a willingness to undertake challenging tasks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence in working collaboratively with different teams.
• A good team player with a proactive and responsible approach to work.
• Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of taxation principles.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
