  • Handle and manage cue cards and prompt sheets as directed.
  • Dismantle scenic elements according to instructions, salvaging and preserving reusable materials.
  • Mark and spike rehearsal areas in accordance with plans and instructions.
  • Assist in rigging scenic elements onto battens or other supports, and help establish safety perimeters during installations and manoeuvres.
  • Maintain clean, orderly and well-kept work areas, filming locations and scenic elements.
  • Touch up paint and carry out minor repairs on set elements as needed to fix damage or imperfections.
  • Set up dressing rooms, makeup areas and related furniture and props as needed.
  • Prepare location sites (including setting up wheelchair ramps, guardrails and scaffolding, and levelling ground) to address spatial and production constraints.
  • Keep studio doors closed to maintain a controlled production environment within the studio and surrounding areas.
  • Adhere to rules in effect and guidelines when bringing or moving motorized vehicles and live animals on set.
  • Adjust, modify, repair and maintain scenic elements.
  • Receive, tag and store scenic equipment and materials and update inventory records; report missing or damaged items to the appropriate department and follow up as required; assist with regular inventory counts.
  • Ship, deliver and pick up scenic equipment and materials as directed, logging all incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Inform staff of the availability and stock location of scenic equipment and materials.
  • Inspect returned equipment and materials for completeness and proper operation; take necessary corrective action and follow up as needed; report any damage or defects to the appropriate department.

Job Requirements:

  • High-school diploma.
