Staff Security Analyst

About the role

We're looking for a Staff Security Analyst to be the senior technical voice in how we detect, triage, investigate, and respond to security threats. This is a senior individual-contributor role for a deeply experienced analyst who can not only run the hardest investigations but also improve the systems, detections, and playbooks the whole team relies on.

As a Staff analyst, you'll handle our most complex and high-severity cases, sharpen our detection and triage capabilities, mentor other analysts, and act as a bridge between day-to-day security operations and the engineering work that makes them better.

What you'll do

• Lead triage and investigation of complex, high-severity security alerts and incidents across cloud, endpoint, identity, and application telemetry.
• Own and improve detection quality — tuning, writing, and validating detections to raise signal and cut noise, in partnership with detection engineering.
• Serve as a senior responder during security incidents: drive investigations, coordinate response, and produce clear post-incident analysis.
• Perform proactive threat hunting and turn findings into new detections and prevention.
• Develop and maintain investigation and response playbooks, and raise the analytical rigor of the team.
• Operationalize threat intelligence to prioritize the threats most relevant to us.
• Build automation and tooling to streamline triage and investigation, reducing manual toil.
• Mentor analysts and set standards for investigation quality and documentation.

What we're looking for

• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in security operations, incident response, threat detection, or a similar analytical security role.
• Deep hands-on experience investigating threats across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network telemetry.
• Strong command of SIEM/detection platforms, log analysis, and query languages.
• Experience writing and tuning detections and leading incident investigations end to end.
• Scripting/automation ability (Python or similar) to reduce toil and extend tooling.
• Excellent analytical judgment and clear written communication for incident documentation.

Nice to have

• Detection engineering experience and familiarity with detection-as-code practices.
• Threat hunting and threat intelligence experience.
• Familiarity with cloud provider security tooling and forensics.
• Relevant certifications (GCIA, GCIH, or similar).

Salary: $220k
