Shape what comes next

By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to reshape how the world learns and applies skills—and help millions of people participate in the new economy. Bring your ideas, expertise, and perspective to meaningful work that can make a difference at global scale.

About this role:
In this pivotal role, you will set the strategic vision for Coursera's search experience across our diverse product suite by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless, personalized and ML/AI driven learner experience.  The best candidates are extremely hands‑on, obsessed with the learner journey, and opinionated about how AI can make finding the right course, credential, or skill path effortless for a global, multilingual audience.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, research, data science, ML,  and university partnership teams to contribute to the development of your product roadmap. You will be in close collaboration with marketing, partnership managers, and growth product teams to ensure the successful growth of the product.

About your skills:
You've built consumer products at scale - ideally high‑intent search or marketplace experiences and deeply understand what makes discovery intuitive, trustworthy, and indispensable.  You've shipped experiences people love and return to.  You bring an "owner" mindset: biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master simplifier, and someone who pushes towards clarity and delivery.  You are user-first, understand and speak in terms of user value propositions, and creatively inspire users to try the product.  You hold a high bar across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on.

What you'll be doing:
Set the vision for next-generation capabilities that help users discover the right learning content by creating a compelling, hyper-relevant and personalized search experience
Own conversational search across Coursera, working with other product teams to ensure a seamless and integrated AI experience for learners throughout the learner journey
Improve the accuracy of search results through innovative tactics, leveraging advances in IR/ML, embeddings, and LLMs to improve query understanding, semantic and multilingual search, personalized ranking, and much more
Employ rapid experimentation techniques to understand evolving market trends, user behaviors, and potential opportunities
Utilize market trends and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and innovative ways to personalize the learner experience
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of conversion and merchandising efforts to make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
Work closely with Marketing and other Product teams to align conversion strategies with overall business objectives and revenue targets

Qualifications:
5+ years of product management experience with direct responsibility over the success of a consumer-facing product and driving revenue
2+ years of PM experience working on search, personalization, or recommendation features
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex and impactful product initiatives from ideation to launch
Experience using a combination of quantitative (A/B testing and multivariate experimentation) as well as qualitative research methods to prioritize and validate ideas
Demonstrated ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams through communication and collaboration
Direct experience in scaling platform-level capabilities that serve multiple use cases • 4+ years in a product team at a large ecommerce company (preferred)
0-to-1 experience taking products from idea to launch, with proven results post-launch (preferred)
Bachelor's degree in a technical or relevant field (preferred)
