Sobre este puesto de Staff Product Manager en Coupang Internal
About Coupang
At Coupang, we're revolutionizing the e-commerce experience, from the moment a customer opens our app to the moment their order arrives. Our retail and logistics network has shattered the tradeoffs between speed, selection, and price. In Coupang, we're rapidly scaling our Rocket Delivery and Rocket Overseas services in Taiwan.
The role
We're hiring a Senior PM to join our Supply Chain Management technology team, leading the design, development, and localization of Coupang's supply chain management products. In this role, you'll own one or more product areas across ordering, inbound placement and schedule, inventory management, transfers, and network design — the systems that decide what to buy, where to send it, when, and how to move it across our FC network. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy in an ambiguous environment, partnering with data science, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to ship measurable outcomes.
The work is science-heavy
Most of what you'll ship has a mathematical model, optimization, ML, or agentic decision-model component at its core. Our architecture combines LLM-based agents with deterministic MIP solvers and ML models: LLMs orchestrate the workflow; solvers and ML models compute the answer. You'll partner daily with our SCM engineering and data science teams, who together own the systems, models, and solvers. Your job is to shape what those systems decide, what they optimize for, and where they hand off to human stakeholders.
What you'll do
Own what to build and why for your product area(s).
-
Write PRDs: problem statement, goals and metrics, scope (in/out), functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, open questions.
-
Own the product roadmap, backlog, and KPIs end-to-end. Prioritize and sequence with reasoning documented; make scope tradeoffs in writing.
-
Drive PRD sign-off with the right stakeholders (retail/catalog, warehouse operations, instock, category management, S&OP, inbound planning) on business use cases, scope, and exit criteria. Align parity/disparity decisions with your counterpart PMs.
-
Conduct UAT against the acceptance criteria you wrote, a functional check that the feature meets requirements.
Work directly with business and operations stakeholders.
Instock managers, S&OP, IPC/CT, category managers, buyers, and FC operations are your primary customers. You'll spend real time with them, sitting with instock manages, buyers, and planners, walking FC floors, understanding what actually breaks. Translate operational pain into product bets. Serve as the strategic bridge between local operations, business teams, and global tech.
Ship AI/ML/OR-integrated products from ideation to launch.
Partner with data science and engineering on ordering, scheduling, placement, inventory rebalancing, and other decision systems in our AI-enabled fulfillment centers. Define success metrics, drive A/B testing, and iterate based on real-time data.
Identify new opportunities across ordering, fulfillment planning, inventory management, and network design.
Deeply analyze data, including unstructured operational data, to size levers and drive cost efficiencies.
Prototype rapidly.
Use AI tools and advanced analytics to reduce time from ideation to proof-old the first-pass analysis, run the numbers yourself.
You should have
-
Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline.
-
5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of shipping products at scale. E-commerce, logistics, or supply chain tech are strongly preferred.
-
Shipped at least one non-trivial optimization or ML-backed product to production (e.g., procurement, routing, dynamic pricing etc.).
-
Fluency in English: reading, writing, and speaking. You will write PRDs, technical specs, and executive updates in English, and work daily with global engineering and DS teams in English.
-
Proven ability to translate complex operational processes into scalable, AI-integrated business solutions from conception to deployment.
-
A forward-thinking mindset with a strong ability to use AI tools (GenAI, LLMs, agents) to accelerate product development, extract insights from unstructured data, and prototype hypotheses.
-
Hands-on data fluency. SQL to the level of writing your own analysis queries.
-
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, influence senior stakeholders without formal authority, and collaborate effectively with data science, engineering, and operational teams.
-
A relentless bias for action and ownership. Willingness to bridge high-level strategy and tactical operational execution.
Nice to have
-
Deep experience designing and launching advanced planning products (fulfillment center planning, automated inventory management, route scheduling, network capacity design).
-
Experience with vendor-facing systems (e.g., SRMS, PO management) and inbound planning and operations.
-
Experience shipping AI-agent products — spec'ing an agent's tools, guardrails, and human handoffs.
-
Python enough to prototype and read DS code.
