Job Summary

The Senior Strategy Analyst supports the facilitation of a streamlined process develop, align, coordinate, refine, and finalize business and functional strategies across the organization.
The strategy team will develop and implement strategic concepts and frameworks. The team will partner with strategy leads and colleagues at executive and managerial levels, coordinating strategic planning initiatives across divisional and enterprise business segments and will focus on prioritizing strategic projects in service of the division. The team’s functions include framing of process/plan, defining success metrics, establishing governance structures for the project, synthesizing competitive / landscape research, articulating hypotheses to test, and managing the effort / coordination of the team.

Job Description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES – what you will be doing (top five):

• Support the facilitation of a streamlined process to develop, align, coordinate, refine, and finalize business and functional strategies across the market organization.
• Develop market growth/financial targets and priorities based on an understanding of the market and a prioritization of what is most important for the success.
• Participate in setting the direction and priorities based on a deep understanding of business challenges.
• Maintain solid understanding of health industry, health economics, evolving opportunities and customer requirements to identify opportunities to optimize corporate and market performance.
• Development and execution of market strategic direction communication for the
• Understand and anticipate competitive dynamics including the understanding of traditional and non-traditional competitors, influence strategies, investment commitments/direction, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Develop market knowledge and system expertise influencing strategy, value proposition and execution.
• Review, understand and collaborate with internal SMEs on the implications of new Federal and State health care legislation, policies, and regulation. Support strategic discussions with insights and develop recommended strategic positions by taking these into account - proactively identify issues impacting strategy and business plan execution and lead problem resolution.
• Help develop the strategy and value proposition for programs and services as part of market strategy Participates in state strategic development to ensure line of sight from strategy to local approach as line of sight to markets local value proposition.
• Work to develop relationships with key business managers across the organization
• Identify opportunities for innovation by understanding problems, needs, and ideas from the business, the customers (employers, providers, brokers), and the members (consumers).
• Help deliver necessary POV for member experience for our division working with our corporate member experience team on priorities.
• Help manage annual project and strategy process for division to ensure proper prioritization across the organization.
• Track changes in the healthcare vendor, technology, and start-up landscape over time
• Partner with a variety of stakeholders to further understand areas impacting our business and to develop prototypes; partners may include provider systems, vendors, academic institutions, accounts, think tanks, incubators, community-based organizations etc.
• Help to design, develop, and assess financial implications of solutions for strategic issues through quantitative and financial modeling (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, etc.).
• Collaborate with the corporate strategy teams and Strategic Business leads to development a view of the market landscape / specific trends.
• Help to develop scenario views of the market and position for the states.
• Assist in defining and take ownership of tracking mechanisms to measure effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
• Keep abreast of changes in the industry and field, proactively identifying and assessing strategic business issues, needs and opportunities to meet corporate goals.

QUALIFICATIONS – what you need to perform the job

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Required: BA/BS degree in a related field
• Preferred: MBA

EXPERIENCE (minimum years required):

• Required: (minimum) 3-5 yeas of professional experience
• Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in progressive consultative or strategic positions

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Superior analytic and research skills.
• Strong business acumen
• Ability to manage and execute projects
• Demonstrated execution of complex projects to profitable outcomes
• Advanced MS Office knowledge (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word)
• Demonstrated success in communicating and pitching ideas across organizational levels

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):

• Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
• Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
• May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.

Salary Range

$90,919.37 -$136,379.05

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization.  The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
