What you'll do

• Lead the mechanical design and manufacturability of precision subassemblies for advanced electronic devices.
• Perform thermal and structural analyses to optimize performance, reliability, and packaging designs.
• Develop assembly methodologies, tooling, and processes that improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and manufacturing travelers.
• Conduct failure investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions or design improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, production, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical input for proposals, specifications reviews, supplier evaluations, and nonconformance resolutions.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to leadership, customers, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and corporate processes.
• Support domestic and international project activities as needed.

What you need

• Mechanical design experience involving complex precision assemblies – required
• Knowledge of thermal management, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles – required
• Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation – required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills – required
• Precision alignment methods and assembly techniques – preferred
• Thermomechanical finite element analysis experience – preferred
• Experience with manufacturing technologies such as brazing, welding, diffusion bonding, additive manufacturing, or motion control systems – preferred
• Master's degree in Engineering or Physics with 2-5 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience – required
• Ability to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally and support occasional evening or weekend work when necessary – required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance – required
