Role Overview
We are looking for a Social Media Manager & Video Editor who can turn raw footage from the company’s ship into engaging social media and marketing content.
This person will be responsible for both content creation and social media management, including editing videos, creating posts, scheduling content, and monitoring the company’s Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. From time to time, the role will also support longer-form content for the website and sales funnels.
Key Responsibilities
Video Editing & Content Creation
- Review raw footage provided by the team and turn it into engaging social media content.
- Edit 30–90 second short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok each week.
- Add captions, music, graphics, transitions, and other elements when appropriate.
- Repurpose footage into different formats based on the platform.
- Keep content consistent with the company’s brand and messaging.
- Create longer-form video content when needed, including VSLs and sales funnel content.
Social Media Management
- Create and prepare content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Write simple and engaging captions to go with posts and videos.
- Schedule and publish content consistently across all three platforms.
- Monitor comments and messages and respond or escalate when needed.
- Moderate social media channels and help maintain a professional and positive online presence.
- Keep the content calendar organized and make sure planned posts go out on time.
Website & Marketing Content
- Help create or edit content for the company website when needed.
- Support sales funnel content, including landing-page materials and video sales letters.
- Repurpose existing content for different marketing uses.
Requirements
- Previous experience in social media management and video editing.
- Hands-on experience creating short-form content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Able to take raw footage and independently turn it into polished, ready-to-post content.
- Comfortable editing both short-form and longer-form videos.
- Good understanding of what makes social media content engaging.
- Strong written English and able to write clear, natural captions.
- Organized and able to manage content schedules across multiple platforms.
- Comfortable working independently and meeting weekly deadlines.
- Available to work 20 hours per week on an EST schedule.
Preferred Experience
- Experience creating content for businesses, brands, hospitality, travel, marine, or lifestyle companies.
- Experience creating VSLs, website videos, or sales funnel content.
- Familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar editing tools.
- Experience using social media scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and content performance.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal person is creative, dependable, organized, and comfortable owning both the editing and social media side of the role. They should be able to receive raw footage, understand what is usable, turn it into engaging content, and manage the posting process from creation through publishing and moderation.
