Sobre este puesto de Senior Staff Software Engineer, Mobile (Android and iOS) - Hyderabad, India en Outreach
About the Team
On the Mobile team, the goal is to give sellers everything they need to work their pipeline when they're away from their desk: their daily tasks, calls, email, SMS, meetings, deal insights and an AI assistant. We own Outreach's native iOS and Android apps end to end. That includes a voice dialer built on Twilio, CallKit and Android's Telecom framework, real-time messaging, conversation recordings, forecasting, and Ask Outreach, our AI assistant. Many of our customers are large enterprises that manage their devices with Microsoft Intune, so the bar on security, reliability and privacy is high.
As our Senior Staff Engineer, you'll be the technical lead for mobile across both platforms. You'll guide the design of our feature work, estimate and plan it with product and engineering leadership, and drive it from kickoff to the App Store and Google Play. Both apps have grown fast, so you'll also set the technical direction: modern architecture, a predictable release process and quality you can measure, planned alongside the roadmap rather than instead of it. You'll help build a mobile engineering culture that the rest of Outreach can lean on. We have plenty of tough challenges which require creative minds like yours to help us solve!
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
• Partnering with mobile product manager, designers and stakeholders to understand how sellers work on the go, and turning roadmap ideas into features that serve those needs
• Technically guiding and working hands-on for feature work across iOS and Android: shaping requirements into technical designs, reviewing designs and code, keeping the two apps consistent, and unblocking engineers on the hardest problems
• Estimating and planning with product and engineering managers: breaking large features into milestones and units of work, sizing them, sequencing them across both platforms and dependent teams, and flagging risk early
• Driving delivery from kickoff to store release: tracking progress against the plan, making scope and trade-off calls, reprioritizing when blockers appear, and keeping stakeholders informed on status and risk
• Owning a predictable release process for both apps: one clear branching model, release cuts and promotion, regression and go/no-go, so everyone knows what's shipping and from where
• Setting the multi-year technical direction for both apps, and planning modernization alongside the roadmap: Swift Concurrency and SwiftUI on iOS, a Jetpack Compose design system and modular Gradle builds on Android, and a consistent GraphQL client strategy with real caching on both
• Defining the mobile delivery platform: automated code signing, CI test gates on every pull request, TestFlight and Google Play release automation, staged rollouts, and release-health metrics like crash-free sessions
• Owning operational excellence for mobile, including crash symbolication, logging standards, release dashboards, on-call practices and incident reviews for mobile releases
• Raising the bar on security, privacy, accessibility and localization, from secure credential storage and App Store privacy manifests to VoiceOver, TalkBack and Dynamic Type support
• Coordinating with the Voice, Identity, Platform and Client Architecture teams on cross-cutting systems such as real-time calling, OIDC authentication, push notifications, feature flags and the GraphQL API, and building buy-in for technical choices
• Working on one of the most visible parts of Outreach's product, to both our customers and the rest of our organization
• Improving the team and company. You'll be an active participant in our culture through mentorship, technical reviews, interviewing and new initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with 8+ years building and shipping native mobile apps
• Deep expertise in at least one native platform, iOS (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow), and production experience on the other. Hands-on experience shipping on both. iOS is strongly preferred
• A track record as the technical lead for feature teams: turning ambiguous product requirements into designs, estimates and plans, and delivering multi-quarter roadmaps on both platforms against committed dates
• Experience planning and coordinating execution across multiple teams: managing dependencies, surfacing blockers early, reprioritizing and reporting status and risk to engineering and product leadership
• A track record of leading the modernization of a large, long-lived mobile codebase: incremental architecture migrations, modularization and test strategy, delivered without stopping feature work
• Strong knowledge of mobile release engineering: branching and release-train models, code signing, CI/CD, App Store and Google Play review, staged rollouts and crash monitoring
• Strong knowledge of mobile security and privacy: OAuth/OIDC on device, secure storage (Keychain and Android Keystore), and store privacy requirements
• Clear written and verbal communication: design docs, plans and trade-off write-ups that build buy-in with engineers, product managers and leadership
• Ability to set and uphold technical and cultural standards for mobile engineering, including code quality, accessibility, performance, testing and operational excellence
• Real-time voice on mobile, such as Twilio Voice, CallKit/PushKit or Android ConnectionService (plus)
• Enterprise mobility, such as Microsoft Intune App Protection and MSAL (plus)
• GraphQL clients at scale on mobile, such as Apollo iOS and Apollo Kotlin (plus)
