About the Role
We're looking for a Senior SDET to join the Free & AD iOS Squad in our Anti-Scam BU. You'll own quality for our iOS app and support Android test automation, helping us build strong mobile testing on both platforms.
You'll work closely with PMs, Designers, and Engineers (Mobile and Backend), from ideation and spec refinement through test planning to launch. You'll do more than find bugs: you'll help the team spot risks early and build quality into every stage of development.
Your Missions
Be part of the full product lifecycle: Build a deep understanding of product goals, user scenarios, and business value. Work with your squad on test strategies and test plans, and write test cases. Early in the requirements and spec phase, raise risks, edge cases, and testing concerns from a user and product perspective.
Own iOS test automation: Build and maintain a stable, maintainable UI/E2E test framework with Swift + XCUITest.
Support Android test automation: Help maintain and extend our Python + Appium framework, and design reusable test modules and data structures.
Integrate with CI/CD: Run automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI) at the PR, nightly, and pre-release stages, as part of our release health gate.
Raise the bar on test code: Write maintainable test code in Swift and Python, and help QA and engineers make their automated tests easier to read and maintain.
Improve testability: Work with QA and engineering on test-friendly design, including test environment strategy, feature flag and config design, and process improvements.
Ad testing: Own in-app ad testing. This covers ad SDK integration, rendering across ad formats (banner, interstitial, native, rewarded, etc.), mediation and ad request flows, and the accuracy of impression and click tracking. You'll also assess how ads affect app performance and stability, such as launch time, memory, and crashes.
What You'll Bring
3–5+ years of experience in test automation or as an SDET, with solid hands-on mobile app testing and automation.
Strong product sense. You understand product goals, user needs, and business context, and you set testing focus and priorities based on how much a feature matters to users and the business, rather than only checking against the spec.
Hands-on experience building or maintaining iOS test automation with Swift + XCUITest.
Proficiency in Swift, with the ability to write clean, maintainable test code.
Strong grasp of testing fundamentals and the test pyramid: you can design the right test strategy and coverage, and judge what should and shouldn't be automated.
Ability to turn test frameworks into well-documented internal products that QA and engineering can easily adopt and extend.
Nice to Have
Hands-on test automation experience on both iOS and Android, especially with Python + Appium.
Familiarity with the iOS development ecosystem (e.g., Xcode, TestFlight, Fastlane).
Hands-on experience testing mobile app ads, such as:
Ad SDK integrations, e.g., Google AdMob, Google Ad Manager
Mediation and waterfall/bidding validation
Ad event tracking and data reconciliation
Privacy compliance testing, e.g., ATT and GDPR/CMP consent flows
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and using them for release decisions (e.g., release gates, smoke checks).
Proficiency with network debugging and API testing tools:
Use proxy tools such as Charles or Proxyman to inspect requests and responses between the app and backend. Use interception, rewriting, and mocking to simulate edge cases such as error responses, poor network conditions, and timeouts.
Use Postman to test and validate APIs, including building collections, managing environments, and writing basic test scripts.
Experience with device cloud platforms (e.g., Firebase), or with snapshot or performance testing.
Interest or experience in anti-fraud, security, or privacy products.
