About This Opportunity

Join the Community Sleep Health Group within the Child Health Research Centre and contribute to purposeful research exploring sleep in children and families, the mental health and wellbeing of young people, and the role of sleep and circadian health across the life course. As Senior Research Assistant, you will provide technical research support and subject matter expertise for studies examining sleep and light exposure in children. Working closely with the group’s research leaders in a collaborative, inclusive and inquisitive environment, you will support participant engagement, fieldwork, data management, analysis and research administration across the research lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate participant communications, bookings, study administration and community-based research activities, ensuring participants receive clear and respectful support.
• Collect, enter, store, clean and maintain study data, undertake basic analysis under the guidance of project leads, and contribute to reports, graphs, figures and presentations.
• Coordinate the deployment, maintenance, repair and inventory of sleep, light and environmental monitoring equipment used in fieldwork and community events.
• Support the preparation of research documentation, ethics and funding applications, literature reviews, manuscripts and other project materials, while contributing to safe and efficient research practices.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed-term position for up to 1 year at HEW Level 5.

About You

• Completion of a degree-level qualification in public health, psychology, statistics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
• Demonstrated experience in research data management and analysis, including the accurate collection, entry, storage and cleaning of data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence communicating with research participants by telephone and in person.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when undertaking routine procedures.
• Adaptability, sound judgement and the ability to respond constructively to changing project needs and priorities.
