What you'll be doing

Our Technology team supports the systems, platforms, and delivery practices that help CIBC serve clients and communities with confidence. As a Senior Project Manager, IT, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of complex technology projects, ensuring project controls, governance standards, and delivery practices are consistently applied. You’ll manage project plans, reporting, risks, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications while using your expertise to guide sound project decisions and maintain momentum. Working with minimal direction, you’ll build strong relationships with business and technology partners, align stakeholders on priorities, and help teams navigate scope and timeline considerations. • Strengthen project practices - Apply project management best practices, governance standards, and control procedures to support consistent delivery. Assess existing processes and identify opportunities to improve planning, reporting, and execution.
  • Manage risk and dependencies - Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies that could affect delivery. Develop mitigation strategies and adjust plans to help teams stay on track with timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
  • Build collaborative partnerships - Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project partners to support informed decisions on programs, products, and services. Negotiate milestones and deliverables when needed to keep priorities aligned.
  • Communicate with impact - Lead project meetings, share clear updates, and prepare concise reporting for stakeholders and senior leaders. Build confidence through thoughtful communication, sound judgment, and a strong focus on outcomes.
  • Support team success - Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to colleagues and project team members where appropriate. Foster a collaborative environment that supports accountability, learning, and high-quality delivery.
