The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in planning, leading and delivering complex, cross-functional projects that support the organization’s strategic priorities and business objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, PMO, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for project delivery from initiation through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, stakeholder engagement and outcomes.
The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and structure across project teams, facilitates effective decision-making, and ensures projects are delivered with a clear focus on business value, quality and sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, milestones, resources and success measures.

Lead projects from initiation through implementation and formal closure, ensuring deliverables and outcomes are achieved.

Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining focus on key milestones and business objectives.
Strategic Alignment & Business Outcomes

Ensure projects are aligned with organizational strategy, priorities and business objectives.

Establish clear measures of project success and monitor progress toward intended business outcomes and benefits.

Provide recommendations to support project prioritization, sequencing and resource decisions where appropriate.
Project Governance & Reporting

Establish and maintain appropriate project governance, decision-making processes, escalationand decisions required.

Escalate significant issues and risks in a timely manner and provide recommendations for resolution.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership

Build strong relationships with senior leaders, stakeholders and cross-functional project teams.

Facilitate effective collaboration and decision-making across teams and stakeholders with differing priorities.

Provide leadership, direction and support to teams, influencing outcomes without direct authority.

Works closely with product leaders on delivery.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

Identify, assess and proactively manage project risks and issues, developing appropriate mitigation and contingency strategies.

Identify and manage dependencies across projects, teams and organizational initiatives.
-
Monitor changes to project scope, timelines, resources and requirements and assess their impact on project outcomes.
Budget & Resource Management
-
Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to approved financial parameters.

Identify resource and capacity requirements and proactively address constraints or competing demands.

Monitor project performance against approved scope, schedule, budget and resources.
Vendor Management

Manage external vendors and partners where applicable, including deliverables, timelines, performance, contracts and issue resolution.

Provide interim support for routine procurement activities, including gathering business requirements, obtaining and comparing vendor quotes, coordinating purchase requests and approvals, and tracking renewals to support business continuity.

Collaborate with Finance and relevant stakeholders to ensure purchasing activities follow established policies, remain within approved budgets and maintain appropriate documentation, supporting a smooth handover to a dedicated procurement specialist.
Quality & Change Management

Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards, requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Lead project change management activities, supporting effective adoption and transition to new processes, systems or ways of working.

Assess and communicate the organizational impact of significant project changes.
Project Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, meeting records, decisions and other project artifacts.

Lead project close-out activities, including evaluation of outcomes, lessons learned and transition to business-as-usual operations.

Identify opportunities to improve project management practices, tools and processes and contribute to PMO standards and best practices.
