SEI is looking for a candidate who will be working as a technical support specialist primarily responsible for the production and development systems support of a suite of trading, portfolio management and reconciliation applications. This includes support of other financial based applications hosted for several business units within SEI. This highly critical and visible role includes constant interaction with many technical and business teams.
Tasks include major version upgrades, client implementations and conversions, break/fix and Disaster Recovery testing as well as providing for detailed technical support through research, analysis and resolution of issues.
What you’ll do:
- Manage support of legacy applications through multiple product lifecycle environments, from pilot to mission-critical production systems.
- Manage implementation and change control of custom releases in IBM z/OS environment for cross platform applications.
- Manage batch production interfaces using CA Scheduler, Connect: Direct, SFTP and IBM Tivoli.
- Manage the coordination and clarification of issues across Global Delivery model.
- Manage post implementation maintenance and production support as well as testing of COBOL programs and batch jobs.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Efficiently plan, coordinate and track various releases (scheduled and ad-hoc), change requests, end of support compliance activities, new implementations, deconversions, migrations to name a few.
- Assist developers and infrastructure teams in investigating critical production issues.
- Should be ready to provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Must have experience in monitoring alerts/troubleshooting and providing L2/L3 support.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
What we need from you:
- 7+ years Support or Development experience required in various Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, SASC, Natural, ISPF Utilities, REXX, ADABAS and VSAM databases.
- Expertise in support of cross platform applications on Mainframe platform utilizing CA Scheduler, TEP, IBM Tivoli, MS Visio, Service Now, and File-aid.
- Expertise in analyzing errors and logs in CA Scheduler, Connect Direct, SDSF, SAR etc.
- Knowledge of real time data replication between Legacy and Distributed applications.
- Knowledge of Utility design/development using REXX, File-Aid JCL commands, ISPF macros.
- Understanding of ITIL process and its components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Flexible, team player with perseverance to deliver at any cost.
- Ability to organize and plan work independently.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
- Experience with database development would have added weightage.
- Knowledge and experience with VMWare & VSphere
- On-call duty (rotation), flexible working all hours including weekends
- Participate in annual disaster recovery testing
