Overview
About the Role
This role is at the heart of innovation on one of our biggest bets - enabling retailers to go beyond configurations to make their site truly their own with custom UI and UX through code editing, AI prompting, and integrations with third party tools. This is also one of the areas with most ambiguity and least data, with latitude to set an ambitious vision and drive execution against it and regular C level visibility.
The right person will have strong product sense and technical acumen to drive senior engineering towards the most meaningful outcome, align a complex group of stakeholders to a long term vision that bucks conventional wisdom in the organization, and can execute with very high throughput.
This role also requires partnering with retailers as a strategic thought partner, alongside commercial counterparts and multiple R&D teams, to deliver cohesive, enterprise-ready solutions that retailers can confidently sign onto and scale with.
About the Team
Instacart’s Enterprise Platform team is responsible for the white-label product that enables retailers of all sizes to compete online through their own ecommerce experiences. The team is focused on platform growth and long-term retailer success — from onboarding new partners to helping them acquire, serve, and retain their end customers in ways that align with their unique brand and strategy.
About the Job
- Own the long term vision, strategy, and roadmap for enabling retailers to build custom experiences into their storefronts, giving them immense control quickly, safely, and within guardrails
- Build a code editor that enables retailers to customize placements, accelerated by AI through text and image based prompts
- Define the right balance between retailer flexibility and platform coherence — enabling meaningful brand differentiation while preserving conversion and other core value we provide
- Enable increasingly complex retailer add ons and interaction with third party tools
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of B2B product management or similar experience
- Strong experience operating at the intersection of product and go-to-market, working closely with enterprise sales, marketing, and customer success.
- Proven ability to build trust with executives, internally and externally.
- Strong leadership skills — able to guide large, multidisciplinary teams toward shared outcomes across Product, Engineering, Data, Design, and GTM.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex product problems across a wide product surface with high ambiguity.
- Strong product vision and communication skills — able to envision how grocery and e-commerce will evolve over the next three years, translate near-term asks into scalable platform offerings, and layer in emerging technologies to go beyond incremental improvements.
- Proven customer and product strategy ability:
a) Build trust with external customers
b) Identify needs and craft complex platform solutions
c) Rally internal teams to make high-stakes tradeoffs under ambiguity and tight deadlines - Fluent in both product intuition and data: able to assess value propositions for both retailers and their end customers, balancing qualitative insights and quantitative impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-accelerated creation tools — using text/image prompts to help users generate or customize UI, content, or code
- 2+ years of involvement with sales / consulting or customer discovery with senior executives
