What you will be doing
The Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end logistics and operations across UK, international and third-party warehouse locations. This role ensures logistics activity is compliant, efficient and continuously improving across the supply chain. You will play a key role in fulfilment performance, regulatory and trade compliance, and supporting the business as it grows its international trading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the logistics team to ensure high performance, accuracy, accountability and excellent service levels, while creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations for both domestic and international shipments through our warehouses and third-party warehouses in the UK and abroad.
- Partner with wider operational teams to ensure smooth, compliant, and scalable logistics processes.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating processes for logistics and export compliance.
- Build and produce regular reporting packs for logistics, highlighting performance, volumes and customer experience.
- Strengthen and expand the preferred courier network to improve service levels, reliability, and geographic coverage.
- Educate our sales teams on the logistics services we can provide to maximise opportunities and enhance the customer experience.
- Design and implement data integration layers between logistics and third-party warehouses to improve data accuracy, automation and end-to-end visibility across the supply chain.
- Ensure all domestic and export activity, from quotation stage through to final delivery, is managed effectively.
- Ensure full compliance with UK and international trade regulations, including export controls, customs documentation, packaging, Incoterms, HMRC requirements, vendor requirements and destination-specific rules.
- Stay current with regulatory changes affecting IT hardware exports, including dual-use goods, sanctions and embargoes.
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, licences, certificates, and customs paperwork.
- Coordinate international shipments across multiple modes of transport, ensuring on-time, compliant dispatch and customer success.
- Monitor carrier performance, transit times and costs to support service improvement and cost optimisation.
- Evaluate current courier providers against cost, performance and customer service metrics to ensure they continue to represent best value and deliver the right customer experience.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and 3PL providers.
- Support our sellers with specific customer requirements, ensuring we demonstrate the best possible service and expertise.
- Negotiate service levels and support performance management of logistics partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, commercial, sales, finance and customer teams to support demand, fulfilment and service excellence.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial and trade requirements.
Requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in logistics, ideally within an IT reseller, technology distributor or hardware-focused environment.
- Demonstrated people management experience within logistics, warehouse and compliance teams.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of UK export regulations and international shipping requirements.
- Experience using courier and logistics tools to book and manage deliveries through online portals, as well as supporting the creation and development of direct links into our ERP.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP/WMS systems (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to use government and authoritative sources to stay current with customs, trade, and regulatory changes.
- High attention to detail, particularly in asset tracking and documentation.
Soft Skills
- Confident communicator with experience managing external partners and service providers.
- Strong organisational skills, an analytical mindset and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
