Position Overview
H.B. Fuller is seeking a Senior Application Specialist to support the commercialization and implementation of water-based barrier coating technologies across Greater Europe and Turkey. This role partners with customers, converters, machine suppliers, and internal teams to deliver successful trials, product launches, and technical support. The position requires hands-on expertise in coating and converting processes and extensive customer-facing engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead technical product demonstrations, machine trials, and commercial launches.
- Provide on-site technical support during production and conversion trials.
- Troubleshoot coating application and manufacturing process issues.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and commercial teams to accelerate commercialization.
- Build trusted relationships with customers, converters, and equipment suppliers.
- Analyze trial results and recommend process or application improvements.
- Deliver technical training and product guidance to customers.
- Capture market feedback to support product and process development.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging, Paper Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in water-based barrier coatings, paper coatings, packaging, paper converting, or related technologies.
- Experience supporting commercial production trials in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of coating methods, drying systems, paper substrates, and converting processes.
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment and ability to travel up to 70% across Greater Europe and Turkey.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with barrier coatings for food packaging applications.
- Familiarity with flexographic, gravure, rod, blade, curtain, or similar coating technologies.
- Experience supporting customers in industrial coating or packaging environments.
- German language proficiency and relevant industry certifications.
