We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Analyst – Global Trade Services (GTS) to support the design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of global trade compliance and customs processes. The role will work closely with Global Trade Compliance, Customs, Supply Chain, Logistics, Legal, and Enterprise IT teams to ensure efficient and compliant cross-border trade operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP GTS, experience integrating GTS with SAP S/4HANA and core business processes, and a solid understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, compliance screening, licensing, classification, and trade preferences.

Key Responsibilities

SAP GTS Solution Design & Process Analysis

• Conduct workshops with Global Trade Compliance, Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Legal stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Analyze and design cross-border trade processes, compliance policies, customs clearance workflows, and trade controls.
• Support end-to-end SAP GTS solutions across:
• Compliance Management
• Sanctioned Party List (SPL) screening
• Embargo checks
• Legal Control and licensing
• Customs Management
• Import and export declarations
• Trade Preference Management
• Free Trade Agreement (FTA) processing
• Define functional integration points between SAP GTS and SAP S/4HANA, including Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, and Logistics Execution.
• Support integration with customs brokers, government gateways, and external trade compliance systems.

Configuration & Functional Delivery

• Perform hands-on functional configuration of SAP GTS, including:
• Partner Functions
• Legal Regulations
• License Determination Procedures
• SPL Screening
• Product Classification
• HS/HTS Codes
• ECCN Classification
• Customs Duty Calculations
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.
• Prepare detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for RICEFW objects, custom interfaces, screening logic, and regulatory reporting.
• Support EDI/XML-based customs messaging and related integration requirements.
• Lead or support integration testing, UAT, cutover activities, master data migration, and post-go-live hypercare.
• Support migration and maintenance of Business Partner, tariff, classification, and trade master data.

Compliance & Process Optimization

• Analyze and improve trade compliance processes, screening performance, and operational efficiency.
• Support reduction of false-positive results and optimization of sanctioned-party screening.
• Improve automated license assignment and real-time resolution of compliance-related order blocks.
• Monitor regulatory and tariff changes and ensure appropriate system updates and configuration.
• Support implementation of new trade agreements and evolving international trade requirements.

SAP Integration & Technical Collaboration

• Work closely with SAP technical teams to troubleshoot integration and functional issues.
• Support integration between SAP GTS and SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC across Order-to-Cash (SD) and Procure-to-Pay (MM/PP) processes.
• Read and understand ABAP code to support functional analysis and troubleshooting.
• Assist with debugging GTS user exits and BAdIs.
• Troubleshoot IDoc, XML, and customs message interfaces.
• Support SAP Fiori-based interfaces and GTS-related user experiences.
• Contribute to SAP GTS and S/4HANA transformation and integration roadmaps.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on functional experience with SAP GTS.
• Strong experience across SAP GTS Compliance Management, Customs Management, and Trade Preference Management.
• Experience with at least 2 full-lifecycle SAP GTS implementations is preferred.

• Strong experience integrating SAP GTS with SAP S/4HANA / SAP ECC.
• Good understanding of SAP SD and MM/PP processes, particularly Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay.
• Ability to understand ABAP code and troubleshoot GTS enhancements, user exits, and BAdIs.
• Experience troubleshooting IDoc/XML-based customs messages and interfaces.
• Strong understanding of international trade compliance and customs processes.

Domain Knowledge

• Understanding of international trade laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with EAR, ITAR, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements.
• Knowledge of Automated Export System (AES) and related export processes.
• Understanding of global trade compliance frameworks, customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing or migrating to SAP GTS, edition for SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience integrating SAP GTS with customs brokers and government gateways.
• Exposure to third-party restricted-party screening solutions.
• Experience with SAP Fiori in GTS environments.
• SAP GTS certification is preferred.
