[What the role is]
Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join the Events and Outreach department as a Project Officer.
[What you will be working on]
You will plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse portfolio of STEM events — including competitions, festivals, conferences, seminars, trails and workshops — that inspire scientific curiosity and nurture a passion for discovery among Singapore's youth and the broader public. Recognising the pivotal role that parents and educators play in shaping young people's learning journeys and career aspirations, selected programmes will also be designed to engage and support these audiences.
In this role, you will oversee end-to-end event delivery, managing all aspects of logistics, venue sourcing, vendor relationships, marketing, and on-site coordination to ensure a seamless and high-quality experience for all attendees. You will be responsible for supporting project deliverables from inception through to execution, maintaining strong attention to detail and stakeholder communication throughout.
A core part of this role involves developing inclusive, impactful, and distinctive STEM learning experiences for students, teachers, families, and the general public. You will curate immersive, hands-on encounters with science and technology that resonate with diverse audiences — bringing complex ideas to life in ways that are accessible, memorable, and meaningful. Through these programmes, you will contribute directly to driving visitorship and generating revenue for Science Centre Singapore.
[What we are looking for]
The ideal candidate should possess good foundational knowledge in science, engineering, or a related STEM discipline, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences. Event and project management-related qualifications and experience may also apply.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to curate immersive science experiences, translating complex scientific concepts into engaging, hands-on programmes that resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Candidates with prior experience in large-scale event management, budget and project planning would be at an advantage.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients, vendors, and team members, promoting clear and timely information sharing and decision-making, are required.
The candidate must be passionate, innovative, and professional with a strong quality of work. The ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communication is essential. Additionally, he/she must have integrity, be detail-oriented, adaptable, and a team player with good communication and decision-making skills, and be able to work on occasional evenings and weekends as required.
