The Opportunity

As a Program Manager – Mid Level, you will support Shared Services and Corporate Functions by planning and delivering defined technology programs, projects, and workstreams that contribute to business and operational goals. You will work in a matrixed environment with engineering, architecture, product, risk and compliance, business partners, and vendors. This role is responsible for disciplined day-to-day execution of assigned work, clear status communication, dependency and risk tracking, and timely escalation. The work is generally smaller in scope, lower in risk, with more clearly defined requirements.  

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in one of the following location: San Antonio, TX.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

• Maintains program strategies commensurate with the level of risk, size, and complexity to ensure individual efforts align with organizational goals.
• Participates in analyses, root cause identification and development and recommendation of key work products.
• Facilitates meetings with executive management and project sponsors to define solutions.
• Negotiates agreements, settles disputes equitably and diffuses situations.
• Adheres to EPMO processes, procedures, controls, standards, tools, and templates (as required).
• Adheres to governance rigor required for work efforts.
• Drives the adoption and sustainment of changes within the organization in compliance with USAA's Change Management methodology.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 1 year of project, program, operations, technology delivery, or related experience; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional work with defined deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of project or program management practices, including planning, scheduling, status reporting, risk and issue management, and change control.
• Ability to organize multiple priorities, maintain accurate plans and records, and follow through on commitments.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including concise status updates and escalation of issues that may affect scope, schedule, quality, cost, or risk.
• Ability to analyze information, identify execution concerns, and prepare practical options for review by more senior program leaders.
• Ability to build effective working relationships in a matrixed organization and coordinate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with financial tracking, resource planning, vendor coordination, or governance reporting is preferred.
• Familiarity with risk management, regulatory or compliance controls, SDLC practices, and organizational change management is preferred.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $85,040.00 - $162,550.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
