Role & Responsibilities

The Program Manager III is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) programs from concept through commercialization within the Medical Devices and Laboratory Instruments portfolio. This role is accountable for delivering programs that meet business objectives while ensuring adherence to quality, regulatory, cost, scope, and schedule commitments.

The successful candidate will serve as the program leader across global engineering, product management, quality, regulatory, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and commercial teams, driving alignment, managing risks, resolving issues, and enabling timely product launches in a highly matrixed organization.

This role requires a seasoned program manager capable of influencing stakeholders across organizational boundaries, making data-driven decisions, and driving execution in a regulated product development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple complex NPD programs through the Product Commercialization Process (PCP)/Phase-Gate methodology from concept through product launch and post-launch closure.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans covering scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, milestones, budget, risks, and deliverables.
  • Drive execution of cross-functional teams while ensuring alignment with business objectives and product roadmap priorities.
  • Establish effective governance mechanisms, conduct regular program reviews, and communicate program health to senior leadership.
  • Own program risk management by proactively identifying risks, facilitating mitigation planning, managing contingencies, and driving issue resolution.
  • Ensure projects meet agreed scope, quality, schedule, and cost commitments while balancing competing business priorities.
  • Facilitate decision-making by presenting program status, trade-offs, recommendations, and recovery plans using objective data and analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with global stakeholders and influence teams without direct authority to achieve program objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Design Control, Quality Management Systems, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Drive accountability across functional teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables and adherence to milestone commitments.
  • Monitor program KPIs and continuously improve execution through lessons learned and best practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and promote standardized project management practices across programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8–12 years of overall industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Program Management experience leading complex New Product Development programs.
  • Experience working within regulated product development environments following Phase-Gate/Product Development Lifecycle methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Design Control, Risk Management, Change Management, and Product Lifecycle Management processes.
  • Experience leading global cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining schedule adherence and execution excellence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in Medical Devices, IVD, Analytical Instruments, or Laboratory Equipment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards applicable to medical devices and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Experience with Practical Process Improvement (PPI), Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
