About You and This Role

As a Product Manager, to be located at Navi Mumbai, India, you will be responsible for driving product portfolio competitiveness, profitability, supply flexibility, and growth enablement across the India Consumer Solutions business. The role serves as a key business leader responsible for evaluating and executing strategies that optimize manufacturing footprint, external contract manufacturing (ECM), sourcing options, product supply networks, and overall value chain performance.

This role operates at the intersection of commercial strategy, product management, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and finance. The incumbent is responsible for assessing and recommending make-versus-buy, buy-sell, external manufacturing, and strategic partnership opportunities that improve profitability, increase supply resilience, support growth, and strengthen long-term competitiveness within India.

The Product Manager translates business strategy into actionable initiatives, governs value chain improvement programs, and drives disciplined execution through cross-functional teams. The role requires balancing short-term operational requirements with longer-term portfolio, manufacturing, and investment decisions while ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer commitments.

Working closely with regional Product Management, Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and external manufacturing partners, the Product Manager provides thought leadership and decision support for strategic initiatives that maximize value creation across the India business.

The role requires strong business acumen, financial analysis capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence complex decisions across a matrixed organization without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead product portfolio competitiveness initiatives across India by identifying and executing opportunities that improve profitability, supply reliability, operational flexibility, and long-term growth.
• Develop and maintain an India-focused manufacturing and sourcing strategy that evaluates internal production, external manufacturing, buy-sell arrangements, and strategic partnerships to optimize business performance.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships and external manufacturing opportunities that support market growth, improve flexibility, and strengthen supply network competitiveness. (Derived from the strategic partnership mandate you described.)
• Lead and govern Value Chain Management Team (VCMT) initiatives by establishing accountability, monitoring key performance indicators, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of business commitments.
• Partner with Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technology, and Finance functions to identify and implement opportunities that improve cost position, product availability, service performance, and margin expansion.
• Conduct financial and business analyses to identify profitability gaps, competitiveness challenges, hidden cost drivers, and value creation opportunities across the portfolio.
• Develop business cases and recommendations for manufacturing footprint optimization, strategic partnerships, and supply network improvements that support future business growth.
• Influence regional product, supply, manufacturing, innovation, and investment strategies to ensure alignment with India business priorities and market opportunities.
• Communicate strategic recommendations, business risks, opportunity assessments, and execution updates effectively to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering/Mechanical /Production Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6-10 years of relevant experience in Product Management, Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Strategy, Business Operations, Procurement, or related business roles.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex business decisions involving profitability, competitiveness, sourcing, manufacturing, supply strategy, or external partnerships.
• Strong understanding of business economics, product profitability, cost structures, supply-demand balancing, and value chain optimization.
• Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
• Strong analytical and financial evaluation capabilities with demonstrated ability to translate data into business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
• Experience with External Contract Manufacturing (ECM), toll manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or third-party supply partnerships.
• Experience in product portfolio management, manufacturing economics, asset utilization, and supply network optimization.
• Experience evaluating make-buy, sourcing, footprint optimization, or strategic partnership decisions.
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Project, Program, or Portfolio Management certification preferred but not required.
