Sobre este puesto de Product Development Manager (Dame Labs Lead) en dameproducts
Do you love getting customers talking, seeing patterns in a survey, listening to what people desire? Do you notice the satisfying click of a button, or the exact curve that makes something feel good in your hand? Can you take a pile of survey results, a prototype and three unanswered manufacturer emails and turn them into a product someone loves? Do you already have an AI agent doing half your busywork? If yes, Dame Products wants you to be our Product Development Manager!
We're Dame Products, a founder-led sexual wellness brand closing the pleasure gap. Our philosophy is that sexuality and pleasure are valuable and deserve respect. We make doctor-approved, community-tested products, from Eva (the most crowdfunded sex toy in history) to the ones you'll help make next. You'll find us at Target, CVS, Walmart and Amazon. Dame Labs is how our community helps design what we make.
Plus, this job will make you the most interesting person at a dinner party.
This is a hands-on execution role. You'll head up Dame Labs, talk to more customers than anyone else in the company, and drive our products from idea to shelf. You'll bring a strong, evidence-backed argument to leadership about what Dame should make next. Then, once we decide together, you'll make it happen.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in strategy decks or hand off the details. We're looking for someone who loves the work of getting a product made, and doing it right. If you crush it, the role grows with you.
What You'll Own
- Run Dame Labs. Grow our tester community, set up how trials run, and make it something people are excited to join.
- Talk to customers. A lot. Run interviews, in-home studies and tester panels to learn how people actually experience pleasure and where products let them down.
- Run surveys. Design them, field them to our community, and turn the results into clear recommendations.
- Host events. Plan focus groups, co-design workshops and community nights, IRL and online.
- Make the case for what's next. Bring leadership a sharp, evidence-backed point of view on what Dame should make, grounded in what you hear from customers.
- Project manage product development. Move every project through design, prototyping, testing and doctor approval to production. Chase samples, keep manufacturers on schedule, and keep timelines, owners and decisions clear.
- Hold the team accountable. Our engineer, industrial designer and testing lead report to you. You'll set priorities and deadlines and make sure the work gets done.
- Own the roadmap and the rhythm. Keep a clear, current roadmap and run the biweekly product meeting.
- Use human-centered design. Start with people, not specs. Keep real bodies, stories and needs at the center of every decision, and test early and often.
- Be AI-forward. Use AI and agents to synthesize interviews, monitor reviews and community feedback, and automate the project management that slows product development down.
Requirements
This position could be a good fit for you if you have:
- 3+ years close to how physical products get made and who they're for. You might come from industrial design, engineering, product marketing, product development or research.
- Real curiosity about customers. You've talked to them, run a survey or test, and changed a decision because of what you learned. A formal UX title isn't required.
- A track record of getting things done. You've kept a project with lots of moving parts on track, and you're comfortable holding designers and engineers to deadlines.
- A daily AI habit. You use AI tools at work all the time, and you have opinions about agents.
- Zero awkwardness about sex. You can talk about bodies and pleasure openly, with anyone.
- Something to prove. You want the big job early, and you'll earn it.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with physical products, especially in wellness, beauty, personal care or consumer hardware
- Formal user research training
- Experience building or running a community, beta panel or events program
- Startup experience where you built things from scratch
Benefits
Why Join Dame?
You'll work directly with the founder, have real ownership, and see the things you helped make on shelves at Target. Your customer research will shape what Dame makes. And you'll get to do it at a company that believes pleasure is a core part of a healthy life, and builds that into how we work.
Compensation
- $85K–$95K base, depending on experience
- Full-time, hybrid in New York
- Reports to the CEO & Founder
