Role Description
The Process Design Consultant I is a member of the Portfolio & Program Management (PPM) team within Global Operations Process Ownership & Operational Excellence. The role enables Process Owners, Process Delegates and key support partners to manage and improve the Single Process Inventory (SPI) by combining portfolio/program management, process design and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze SPI, Process Owner Portal (POP), program and Voice of the Customer data to identify trends, risks, process-design issues, waste and improvement opportunities; translate findings into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Frame business questions, identify appropriate data sources, assess data quality, and select and apply fit-for-purpose analytical and visualization tools.
  • Respond effectively to urgent and rapidly changing requests, producing accurate, concise and executive-ready analysis, presentations, scorecards, dashboards and recommendations—often within short timelines. Define and track success measures, benefits, milestones, risks, dependencies and outcomes.
  • Coordinate and provide governance for SPI changes and deliverables, including scope, process granularity, process splits, regional breakouts and multi-team processes, in partnership with Process Engineers.
  • Support deployment of process maturity assessments, process and control deep dives, Walk the Process, client journeys and targeted process redesign and improvement efforts.
  • Administer and improve PPM portfolio routines, including work intake, prioritization, status reporting, and action and decision tracking.
  • Design and deliver Process Management education, onboarding and enablement for Process Owners, Delegates, Advisors and support partners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and POP/SPI data; promote consistent standards, controls and data lifecycle practices across FLUs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions and communicate recommendations, decisions, progress and risks to stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Use feedback, lessons learned and emerging capabilities, including responsible use of AI where appropriate, to simplify and improve team processes

Required Skills: What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a proactive, data-literate and detail-oriented professional who can turn complex information into practical recommendations while managing multiple portfolio and program priorities.

Required Experience & Attributes

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in process design or management, portfolio/program/project management, business or data analysis, operational excellence, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated data literacy: able to define the question, locate and evaluate relevant data, identify data-quality limitations, analyze information, and communicate evidence-based conclusions.
  • Experience analyzing operational or process data, identifying trends and root causes, and translating findings into actionable process or program improvements.
  • Ability to select and apply appropriate analytical tools for the task; advanced proficiency in Excel and strong skills in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience developing metrics, scorecards, dashboards or executive reporting and explaining insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, risks and deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills, including the ability to create and present clear, concise, executive-ready analysis and presentations to cross-functional partners and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated composure, sound judgment and flexibility in a high-pressure, fast-paced and continually evolving environment; comfortable handling rush requests, shifting priorities and ambiguity while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Sound judgment when handling sensitive information and a strong commitment to data quality and control standards.

Desired Skills: Skills That Will Help

  • Working knowledge of Single Process Inventory (SPI), Process Owner Portal (POP), Cognos reports or comparable process-governance platforms.
  • Completion of The Business of Data 100 and 200 learning pathway, or equivalent proficiency in data literacy and applied analysis; willingness to complete the pathway after joining if needed.
  • Experience with data preparation and visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau or Power BI, and the ability to choose the appropriate tool for the analysis.
  • Process Management, Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or equivalent practical process-improvement experience.
  • Experience with process maturity assessments, process/control deep dives, process mapping, Walk the Process, client journeys or end-to-end process redesign.
  • Global Operations or comparable financial-services operations experience, including familiarity with risk and control practices, data lifecycle management or change-management standards.
  • Project management experience or certification, with practical knowledge of planning, prioritization, governance, dependency management and delivery tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience using different Microsoft Copilot experiences or comparable generative-AI tools to support work and data analysis—for example, framing questions, summarizing information, exploring or validating data, developing insights, drafting executive presentations, or improving productivity—while applying appropriate human review, data-handling and risk controls.
