Why You’ll Love Working Here

We’re a close-knit pharmacy team that values doing good work, helping each other, and treating people with respect. We are a closed-door long-term care pharmacy, so there’s no walk-in retail traffic or traditional pharmacy counter. Instead, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team behind the scenes, helping make sure our patients receive the medications they need, when they need them.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environment, so it’s a great fit for an experienced technician who enjoys staying busy, knows how to prioritize, and takes pride in keeping work moving while maintaining accuracy.

Schedule

  • Start times vary between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM

  • End times range between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM

  • Typically work one weekend day per week

  • One full weekend off per month

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

What You’ll Do

As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, you’ll play an important role in keeping our high-volume pharmacy running smoothly. You’ll enter and process prescriptions quickly and accurately while working closely with your teammates to meet daily deadlines and delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into Framework and other pharmacy systems accurately and efficiently.

  • Triage incoming fax prescriptions to help ensure timely processing and dispensing.

  • Enter appropriate notes and cycle-fill coding into the pharmacy system.

  • Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.

  • Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up with doctors’ offices on assigned refills.

  • Maintain accurate data entry records for cycle medications, fill requests, renewals, and new cycle orders.

  • Use pharmacy systems effectively, including document imaging and legacy pharmacy computer systems.

  • Understand and manage Cycle processes to help meet delivery deadlines.

  • Consistently meet the pharmacy’s established accuracy and productivity standards.

  • Troubleshoot, research, and resolve customer service issues using your pharmacy knowledge and experience.

  • Communicate with customers by telephone in a caring, understanding, and courteous manner, routing calls as appropriate.

  • Complete assigned prescriptions within your regular shift.

  • Work closely with teammates to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow, especially during periods of high volume.

  • When needed, assist with filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions.

  • Perform other duties as needed to support the pharmacy team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced pharmacy technician who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment, can maintain accuracy while working at a steady pace, and enjoys being part of a team.

Required:

  • 3+ years of related pharmacy experience, including experience working in a high-volume pharmacy environment.

  • At least 6 months of pharmacy data entry experience in a long-term care or managed care setting.

  • WA State Pharmacy Technician License — REQUIRED.

  • High School Diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.

  • Experience with pharmacy computer systems; familiarity with Framework preferred.

  • Knowledge of brand-name and generic medications and SIG codes.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, even when processing a large volume of prescriptions.

  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with minimal direction.

  • Willingness to speak up and ask questions when something doesn’t look right.

What Makes Someone a Great Fit

Organization & Planning
You can prioritize your workload, stay organized, and keep track of deadlines even when volume is high.

Problem Solving
You’re comfortable thinking things through, finding solutions, and asking for help when you need it.

A Positive Attitude
You bring a friendly, respectful attitude to work and understand that how we treat our teammates and the people we serve matters.

The Environment
