The Role
We're hiring a Performance Creative Strategist who understands paid social inside and out, and knows how to build creative strategy that ladders up to hard business numbers. Reporting to the Head of Performance Marketing, you'll own the link between creative execution and business outcomes: not just ROAS and CPA on direct-response ads, but sessions, engagement, and assisted conversions driven by the awareness and consideration content that feeds the rest of the funnel. You'll conceptualize and brief high-converting formats across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and you'll be as comfortable defending a creative decision with a testing matrix as you are pitching a top-of-funnel brand ideas.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Funnel Creative Strategy: Build and brief creative for distinct funnel stages: direct-response ads optimized for CPA and ROAS, and awareness/consideration content designed to grow sessions, engagement, and assisted conversions. Use GA4 and multi-touch attribution reporting to prove upper-funnel impact, not just last-click performance.
Performance Data Analysis: Audit active campaigns daily across paid social & programmatic; track hook rate, CTR, ROAS, CPA, and assisted-conversion contribution to isolate winning visual patterns and conversion drivers at every funnel stage.
Creative Briefing & Direction: Translate quantitative and qualitative performance data into clear, actionable creative briefs for copywriters, designers, content creators, and video editors.
Trend & Competitor Research: Monitor cultural movements, platform-specific trends, and competitive print/e-commerce landscapes to identify new hooks and formats early.
Rapid Testing Frameworks: Design and run continuous creative testing matrices across hooks, pacing, formatting, and CTAs, and extend testing frameworks to top-of-funnel content, not just direct-response ads.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the strategic bridge between media buyers and the creative team, keeping production aligned with both revenue/CPA targets and upper-funnel awareness and consideration goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 4 to 7 years of direct experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, growth marketing, or agency-side creative strategy, with demonstrated ownership of both direct-response and brand/awareness creative. E-commerce or DTC experience is heavily preferred.
Platform Fluency: Deep technical knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager.
Data & Attribution Literacy: Exceptional ability to read dashboard analytics and extract patterns from performance data using tools like Motion. Working knowledge of GA4 attribution reporting or a multi-touch/assisted-conversion attribution tool (e.g. Triple Whale, Northbeam, or similar) to measure upper- and mid-funnel impact, not just last-click ROAS.
Storytelling & Hook Design: A proven portfolio demonstrating your ability to write compelling script hooks, structure high-converting visual flows, and command viewer attention in the first three seconds, at both the direct-response and brand-awareness level.
Collaborative & Technical Tools: Comfort using workspace, creative, and planning tools such as Figma, Canva, Asana, or Wrike.
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of in-office and remote work. This position requires working from the office 2-3 days per week at 670 Caledonia Rd, Unit 101, Toronto, ON.
