Sobre este puesto de Payroll Support en Remote Raven
Position Overview
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Data Entry Specialist to support the payroll and HR operations team. This role is primarily responsible for accurate and timely entry of payroll data, but it is far more than a data entry position — we are looking for a true team player with an all-hands-on-deck mindset.
We do not believe in people who only do what is in their job description. We believe in people who look around, see what needs to be done, and step up. If the team needs help, you help. If something is outside your normal lane but within your ability, you take it on. We are a fast-moving company and we need someone who is flexible, resourceful, and genuinely invested in the team's success.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Data Entry — Primary Function
• Enter employee time, hours, job codes, and pay data accurately into the payroll system on a regular and timely basis
• Verify time entry submissions for completeness and accuracy before processing — flagging missing, inconsistent, or questionable data for review
• Support the payroll processing cycle by ensuring all data is entered correctly and on schedule
• Assist with certified payroll data entry and reporting in compliance with prevailing wage requirements, where applicable
• Maintain organized payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies
Payroll Support & Coordination
• Coordinate with field supervisors, foremen, and project teams to resolve missing time entries or data discrepancies
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with payroll audits and reporting as directed by the payroll supervisor or HR manager
• Support new hire data entry — entering employee information, pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit details accurately into the system
HR & Administrative Support
• Assist the HR team with data entry, filing, document management, and general administrative support as needed
• Support onboarding documentation processing and employee record maintenance
• Help the team with overflow tasks, special projects, and time-sensitive requests — this is an all-hands-on-deck environment
Team Player Mindset — This Is Non-Negotiable
This is what sets great team members apart.
• Step up when the team needs support — regardless of whether the task is in your formal job description
• Communicate proactively when you see something that needs attention or when you are falling behind on a deadline
• Look for ways to contribute beyond your immediate responsibilities — we reward initiative and flexibility
• Approach every day with a positive, can-do attitude that reflects the company's core value of Positivity
Required Qualifications
• Prior experience in payroll data entry, HR administration, or a closely related role
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail — payroll errors have real consequences for real people
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to maintain speed and accuracy over high-volume tasks
• Comfortable working with payroll or HRIS platforms — experience with Paycom, ADP, Sage, or similar is a plus
• Organized and reliable with the ability to meet recurring payroll deadlines without exception
• Strong communicator — professional, clear, and responsive with both internal team members and employees
• Team-first mindset — you are not just here to do your job, you are here to help the team succeed
• Self-directed and dependable in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with certified payroll or prevailing wage reporting in a construction environment
• Background supporting a construction, electrical, or trades company payroll function
• Familiarity with job costing and how payroll data connects to project accounting
• Experience providing cross-functional administrative support in a fast-paced company
What Makes You a Great Fit
• Your payroll entries are accurate and on time — every pay period, without exception
• When a teammate is overwhelmed, you ask what you can take off their plate — before being asked
• You communicate proactively about deadlines, discrepancies, and anything that could affect the team's work
• You understand that the best team members are the ones who make everyone around them better
