National Collections Manager

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute National Collections Manager to join our National Shared Services Centre based in Parramatta on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Leading a team of approximately 10-12 Collections professionals, you will be responsible for driving collection performance, optimising cash flow, reducing overdue debt and ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service across our national operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong people leader who can balance customer relationships, commercial outcomes and process improvement while supporting a high-performing collections function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a national collections team to achieve individual and team performance targets
• Drive collection strategies that maximise cash flow and minimise overdue debt
• Manage and oversee collection activities across a large and diverse customer portfolio
• Monitor collection performance, reporting and KPIs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Partner with Sales, Commercial, Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve customer issues and improve outcomes
• Manage key customer accounts and negotiate payment arrangements where required
• Review and manage accounts that exceed approved credit limits, escalating risks appropriately
• Support credit risk management activities and recommend actions to minimise exposure
• Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements and relevant regulatory obligations
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and best-practice collections management
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, training and succession planning activities within the team

About You

You are a collaborative and results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing people while delivering strong commercial outcomes.

• Significant experience in Collections, Credit Management or Accounts Receivable leadership roles
• Proven experience leading large collections teams
• Experience managing complex customer portfolios and high-volume collection activities
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management experience
• Demonstrated success in improving cash collection performance and reducing aged debt
• Experience working within large corporate environments
• SAP experience will be highly regarded
