Overview of the Role

You will be part of the medical function within P&G’s Research & Development organization, supporting the P&G Health India business from Mumbai. In this role, you will help design and deliver medical affairs activities for the assigned therapeutic area, ensuring scientific excellence, compliance, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

As a Medical Manager at Head Office, you will support execution of the medical affairs strategy for the assigned therapy area and enable high-quality scientific engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and healthcare organizations (HCOs). The role includes scientific communication, claims and content review, evidence support, medical input into product initiatives, and collaboration with Product Research, Regulatory, Product Development, Clinical, Sales, and Marketing teams.

This role is suited to a medically qualified professional with strong scientific grounding, clear communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the medical affairs plan for the assigned therapeutic area in alignment with business priorities and medical strategy.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current clinical practice, treatment trends, competitive therapies, and relevant scientific literature.
• Gather, assess, and communicate medical and scientific insights clearly, accurately, and compliantly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Review and support substantiation of scientific claims, promotional and non-promotional materials, medical communications, and training content to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
• Provide medical input across product lifecycle activities, including product development, evidence generation, lifecycle management, medico-marketing initiatives, and registration support for new products or indications.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Research, Regulatory, Product Development, Clinical, Marketing, and Sales teams to support business needs with sound medical judgment.
• Engage in credible, non-promotional scientific exchange with HCPs, KOLs, and HCOs, and support medical education initiatives such as CMEs, scientific symposia, advisory boards, and expert round tables, where applicable.
• Identify emerging medical insights, unmet needs, and local market feedback, and share them with internal stakeholders to support planning, positioning, and decision-making.
• Support medical information activities, including responses to scientific and medical inquiries, where applicable.
• Contribute to evidence-generation initiatives, publication planning, dissemination activities, scientific presentations, labelling review, and other approved medical-regulatory documentation in line with SOPs and local requirements.
• Deliver technical and scientific training for internal teams, including field force and cross-functional partners, as needed.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, medical governance requirements, local regulations, and applicable industry standards, including compliant HCP engagement.

Qualifications

• Medical degree or equivalent medical/scientific qualification required.
• 3-7 years of relevant experience in medical affairs, medical communications, medical support, scientific roles, or related positions within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Strong ability to interpret medical, clinical, and scientific data and translate it into clear, relevant, and compliant medical communication.
• Good understanding of medical affairs processes, scientific exchange, claims support, medical governance, and compliant engagement practices.
• Experience in scientific review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials.
• Familiarity with HCP interaction processes and documentation requirements.
• Ability to support KOL/HCO engagement plans, advisory boards, expert round tables, and medical education initiatives.
• Familiarity with evidence-generation activities, publication planning, scientific dissemination, and related medical-regulatory documentation.
• Experience in delivering technical/scientific training for field force and internal cross-functional teams.
• Ability to incorporate external medical insights into internal planning to strengthen product positioning and local activation plans.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multifunctional teams.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with discipline and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
