Pay Range:

This position is sign-on bonus eligible if the candidate meets organization qualifications.

The Medical Assistant I supports the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required 

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow Medical Assistant scope of practice, policies, and competency requirements.

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, review medications, and complete screenings.

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.

• Collect specimens, perform venipuncture, and complete lab testing as appropriate.

• Administer medications and vaccines safely.

• Support patient care through refills, referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.

• Cross-train to support clinic and specialty-specific needs.

• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and care team members.

• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and equipment.

• Provide age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems
• Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience
