Responsabilities
Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of construction workers engaged in bricklaying, roofing, cement finishing, tile setting, plastering, drywall installation, glazing, insulating and painting, and workers who install and service prefabricated products in residential and commercial properties, as well as workers who repair a wide variety of products, such as musical instruments, sports equipment, vending machines, bicycles and camerasLoad and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areasErect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sitesAssist in drilling and blasting rock at construction sitesAssist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materialsRemove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipmentAssist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various drills and other surface mining machineryEstablish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractorsResolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product qualityRequisition materials and suppliesTrain workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policiesRecommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotionsPrepare work progress reportsMay manage the operations of own companyMay also supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers.Rrequirements
Completion of secondary school isrequired.Several years of experience in the trade or the work area supervised are required.Some experience as a general construction labourer
