The role

The Head of Fraud will lead the design and implementation of the Company's Fraud Risk Management Framework for its new Irish Payment Institution, building the function from the ground up. This role owns day-to-day fraud operations end-to-end - from customer escalations and payment-related investigations to Board-level reporting - while leading and developing the fraud team and acting as a trusted advisor across the business. Ideal for an experienced fraud leader with a strong background in Irish/European regulated financial services who wants to shape a function from its earliest stages.

What you’ll do

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Company's Fraud Risk Management ("FRM") Framework, ensuring mitigation of fraud is captured within the Company's delivery of products and services.

• Manage day-to-day FRN operations, including customer escalations; card program-based alerts; payment escalations or chargebacks; investigations; and reporting.

• Produce dashboards and detailed reports for the Board and governance committees.

• Lead the fraud team, managing managers, and fostering a culture of operational risk management excellence.

• As as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance for new products and initiatives, working closely with compliance, risk, product and tech teams to embed appropriate structures, automation, and processes within the design.

• Engender a strong organisation-wide culture of compliance and best practices.

What you need to have

• Professional certifications such as CFE, CFCS and/or equivalent are an advantage.

• Educated to a degree level in Finance, Business, Technology or a related field is desired. 5+ years of senior operational risk - and/or financial crime - related experience within. Irish regulated financial services (Payments) would be highly desirable.

• Experience with retail clients and/or consumers is a requirement.

• In-depth knowledge of European and Irish legislation, regulations and guidance relating to European Payment Service and Electronic Money Directives.

• Deep knowledge and demonstrable experience in developing and implementing FRM Frameworks, including policies, procedures, controls, Quality Control, and product launches.

• High standards of conduct and ethics.

• A "right first time" attitude and excellent attention to detail.

• Capable of working independently or as part of a team.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
