Gas Engineer
Location: Sedgefield, Spennymoor
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Company van + fuel card
Emergency call out rota additional to salary
Salary: £39,021.78 per annum
We are currently recruiting for a Gas Engineer to join our Spennymoor branch. With a company van provided and opportunities for overtime and call out payments, this role offers long-term stability and career development within a leading housing services provider.
Working on a planned route, you will carry out reactive repairs, servicing, breakdown repairs and new installations. You will be responsible for ensuring gas systems are operating safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with all relevant gas safety regulations.
About the Role:
- Carry out gas servicing and repairs in occupied properties
- Complete boiler servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Undertake annual gas safety inspections and compliance checks
- Carry out new gas installations where required
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Inspect flue systems, including access to loft spaces where required
- Access and inspect gas meters to ensure safe operation and accurate readings
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Participate in the emergency call out rota as and when required
- Work safely within confined spaces and loft areas where necessary
Key Criteria:
- Qualified to City & Guilds/Gas Service Engineer standard
- Hold current ACS certifications including CCN1, CENWAT and CKR1 as a minimum
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Ability to provide own hand tools
- Experience carrying out gas servicing and repairs
- Experience working within social housing
- Ability to work independently and manage a planned workload
- Commitment to health and safety and regulatory compliance

- Air source heat pump qualification
