Sr. Specialist, Deal Support

The Role

Zendesk is looking for a Sr. Specialist, Deal Support to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving sales velocity while maintaining strong operational integrity and compliance. Operating as a trusted advisor across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Recognition teams, you will oversee end-to-end deal processing for standard to medium-complexity transactions.

We are looking for someone who balances strict policy adherence with an empathetic, solution-oriented approach—ensuring smooth transaction cycles, compliance, and an exceptional partner experience.

What You'll Do

• Deal Processing & Governance: Efficiently manage and process deals in strict alignment with established guidelines across sales channels. Ensure complete accuracy to support finance audit reviews and revenue recognition guidelines.
• Sales Partnership & Advisory: Serve as a front-line operational advisor, answering pre-signature inquiries, assisting with opportunity and quote tickets, and guiding sales teams through deal flow requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive proactive, transparent communication across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue teams, especially for urgent transactions or exceptional cases. Participate actively in weekly regional meetings to highlight deal insights and operational challenges.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Identify out-of-scope or high-complexity deals early to escalate promptly to senior team members. Actively participate in RCA on escalated transactions to address underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
• Continuous Improvement: Under senior mentorship, contribute to ad-hoc business projects, process mapping, and submit operational pain points to enhance overall team efficiency.
• Performance Management: Manage daily deliverables consistently to meet or exceed agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  

What You Bring to the Role

Required:

• Principled Integrity: A high bar for accuracy and personal integrity, taking pride in upholding compliance standards, financial rules, and policy guidelines.
• Service-Minded Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex policies with clarity, patience, and diplomacy to internal stakeholders.
• Proactive Ownership: A self-starter mindset to track deal progress, communicate urgency, and deliver high-quality work independently against strict SLAs.
• Analytical Curiosity: A problem-solving mindset eager to understand the "why" behind operational bottlenecks and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Relevant Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Finance, Contract Management, or a related functional area (or an advanced degree with an operational focus).
  

Preferred:

• Practical understanding of deal desk workflows, contract compliance, and SLA management.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams in a SaaS environment.
